DELIGHTFUL!!!

Listened to this in one without stopping- reminded me of flavor of Winston brothers series which is absolute favorite of mine- but still it’s own unique storyline. The perfect amount of banter, angst, steam, sweetness and HEA!! For sure going to read every book in this series!! 100% worth credit!

This is the story of two childhood friends who has been harnessing feelings for each other for years. Along with best friends younger sister on his side and brothers best friend on hers.

It took some finagling on his part to come to his senses on making their feelings known to the world but once they did all was right lol (of course)

This was narrated by Chris Brinkley who is new to me as far as listening to a full book and I will for sure ho for more. I really enjoyed his voice and the way he added emotion into the storytelling!

I love a series about siblings. Susannah Nix is a new author to me and I absolutely love her writing. The series is based on the King Family, ice cream moguls, in small town Crowder, TX. My Cone and Only is Wyatt and Andi's story. Andi has been in love with Wyatt for years, but he's her brother's best friend, a definite playboy, and doesn't seem to be on his radar. Wyatt promised his best friend Josh that he would look after Andi, protect her, but keep his hands off of her. But he knew at age 17 that Andi was "the one". There is comedy, plenty of steam, and an HEA for the ages.

The narration was just fabulous. Chris Brinkley and Amanda Stribling are two of my favorite narrators. I'm never disappointed with their performances.

A great small town romance series starter

My Cone and Only is the first in a new series from Susannah NIx about the wildly dysfunctional King Family.

Wyatt has been half in love with his best friend's sister for years, and little does he know that the object of his affection, Andie, feels the same. But Wyatt is a flawed man with a complicated family, and he doesn't want to disrupt the relationship he has with Andie, her brother and their whole family.

Susannah Nix has given us a romance that does not have a smooth road to a happy ever after. Wyatt has a lot of issues that he needs to address, and Andie has to battle with her confidence. Their love for each other is so clear, but fear holds them back.

The audio, narrated by Chris Brinkley and Amanda Stribling, was so good. They both really embodied their characters and brought the emotion out in their performances.

I am very much looking forward to more in this new series.

Sweet small town romcom

I loved Wyatt, his inner struggles, and his journey to being loved. Andi was a fun MC, equal parts confident and insecure in the face of her biggest dream. The supporting cast were such a good time!

Sexy and fun romance

Somehow, My Cone and Only is the first book I’ve read by Susannah Nix, but it is definitely not the last. Both Andie and Wyatt have been in love with the other since they were teenagers. Wyatt has never touched Andie as she is his best friend’s little sister and Wyatt promised Josh he would always protect Andie. Wyatt has also only every been a serial dater, who has never had a real relationship and has pretty much dated every woman in their hometown of Crowder, TX.

I really liked both Andie and Wyatt. Andie is a strong character, who is super independent and not one to ask for help if she can avoid it. Wyatt works as a handyman and is in a cover band, and really just works just enough to pay the bills. He still lives in a crappy bachelor apartment, and seems to have no ambition to the people around him, but he is such a nice guy and the life of the party much of the time. When Andie needs help with her house she inherited from her grandmother, she turns to Wyatt who jumps at the chance to help her out, and after one accidental kiss, everything changes for Andie and Wyatt.

Andie and Wyatt had off the charts smoking hot chemistry. As Wyatt had promised Josh when they were in high school never to touch Andie, they keep their relationship a secret for much of the book. I love the two of them together, but didn’t love the fact they had to hide their relationship for so long. It honestly was the only thing about this story I didn’t like.

The narrators for this audiobook are Chris Brinkley and Amanda Stribling and both did an absolutely fantastic job with this story. There was a seamless transition from one narrator to the next, and were both spot-on with the voices and personalities of each and every character. There were many different characters in this book, and both Brinkley and Stribling pulled off every single voice to perfection.

a sweet and spicy brothers best friend romance

This is my first full length book from Susannah Nix and it was one sweet introduction!!A classic Friends to lovers/brothers best friend romance.

My Cone and Only is a friends to lovers/ brothers best friend romance about Wyatt and Andie two friends who have harbored secret feelings and attraction to each other for years. When the two finally give into the temptation and reveal that attraction to each other the heat ramps up. They agree to keep their budding relationship a secret for the time being not wanting her brother Josh to find out. But when they continue to grow closer the secret becomes harder for Andie to keep. Lying to every one feels wrong the question is will Wyatt ever be ready to go public with their relationship?....

I enjoyed this listen. Andie and Wyatt were really great together. They were fun, flirty, had great banter and wonderful chemistry. Being friends first allowed them to fall into an easy relationship. I wasn’t the biggest fan of their agreement to flirt with others while in public to keep up the charade but I understood why Andie agreed to it once she admitted she had wanted them to get caught. I did want to drop kick Wyatt in his “bathing suit parts” a time or two while listening but what is a good romance without some stupidity from men and a bit of angst to get your eye a twitching and jaw a ticking? Hey if you get an HEA in the end it’s all worth it!

Chris Brinkley and Amanda Stribling did a fantastic job narrating these characters. They brought a down to earth real vibe to Wyatt and Andie that I really liked and I’m anxious to hear more from them in future books.

An overall great listen and fantastic start to a new series. I’m looking forward to listening to the others

Cute story with interesting family dynamics

I started out not seeing any potential between the two main love interests, and it was still somewhat unbelievable by the end, but I was definitely rooting for them regardless.

Sweet, Fun, and Sexy Forbidden Romance!

This is the first book in the King Family series, a Small Town Romance. This series is interconnected with the Chemistry Lessons series (Elementary Romantic Calculus Book #6). Wyatt and Andie's forbidden romance is fun, sweet, and sexy. I liked the slow burn romance, the tension, the banter, and the beautiful ending. The supporting characters are interesting. This is a cute Romance. Chris Brinkley and Amanda Stribling did a good job with the narration. Looking forward to listening to Cream and Punishment, the next book in the series. #HomeCookedBooks

New to me narrators Chris Brinkley and Amanda Stribling bring Susannah’s words to life and wow, these two are going on my one click list as they had me captivated from start to finish.
Chris’ performance as the lovestruck Wyatt with the lothario reputation whose family issues prevent him from just being honest with the woman he loves is absolute perfection. Chris consummately captures the love, lust, longing, desire, and fear that Wyatt goes through. Amanda’s portrayal of the strong but lovesick Andie is incredible. Amanda perfectly encapsulates Andie’s wants and desires, needs, feelings, fears, heart and soul and deep-rooted passion for not only Wyatt but also her family and her career. Beautiful narration, an amazing pairing, I will always listen to any projects I see either of these voice actors on in future as I know the book will be in capable hands.
Susannah Nix is a new to me author and oh my goodness, Susannah has jumped onto my favourite list for sure. From her incredible writing style to her dazzling storytelling, Susannah is an author you are going to want to read and I cannot recommend this book enough. I loved it so much I had to dive straight into book two in this series Cream and Punishment.

Fabulous Story & Narration🎧 A Captivating Delight!

This is a wonderfully delightful friends to lovers, brother’s best friend romance. the story not only grabbed my attention and captivated it the entire book but it tugged on my heartstrings too. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they re easy to care about too. I adored the lead characters, Andie Lockhart and Wyatt King, there are some great secondary characters as well, ones I am hoping to see more of in this series. Andie has had a crush on Wyatt for as long as she can remember, but he is her brother’s best friend and thinks he only sees her as a younger sister. Wyatt had promised his best friend Josh that he would lookout for his sister and to keep his hands off of her, which makes her off limits. But that is getting harder to do, he has always had feelings for her but respected his friend’s wishes. His family owns Kings Creamery, the ice cream company, his father has other business dealings in town too, but Wyatt wants nothing to do with his father or his businesses, their relationship has been strained for a while. When Andie gets a notice of violations and a threat of liens on the house she inherited from her grandmother, she looked into it and saw that it stemmed from the interested a real estate developer had for her house and property, the company is Wyatt’s father’s, so she calls Wyatt for help. Wyatt, a contractor, comes up with a solution, to fix the house up and get it up to the town’s codes, he even works out a deal to get the fines removed if it is all completed by the deadline. Him working in her house and seeing her every day was not the smartest move on his part, the more he sees her the harder it is to deny his attraction to her, but she is happy about seeing him more often. I loved these two together and for each other, the chemistry between them was smoking hot. And she helps with his confidence as an aspiring musician and songwriter and encourages him to go for it, which he does. There is never a dull moment in this beautifully written and plotted romantic comedy, it has the perfect balance of drama, charming humor and witty dialogue, a touch of angst, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Susannah Nix, thank you for this fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

Chris Brinkley and Amanda Stribling are superbly talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they were portraying, gave each a voice that fit their character’s persona to a tee and were believable in every role they played. Their ability to handle the witty dialogue and land the humor effortlessly is impressive, as is their knack of capturing all the character’s emotions and project them into their performance. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhances this story to another level. Thank you for another amazing listen.

The perfect friends-to-lovers, brother’s best friends, small-town romance!

I loved this story so much! It was so sweet and steamy! ‘My Cone and Only’ is basically about our mains Wyatt and Andie. Wyatt is confident, he is smooth talking. Andie is strong, she’s sweet, she’s hardworking. Secretly pining after each other for years, the chemistry between these two was incredible. I loved both Wyatt and Andie!

I also love the play on words with the title. This story gave us great and meaningful friendships, it gave us sweet, swoony worthy moments, it gave us complex family relationships! And of course, it also gave us plenty of steam and family drama!

Narrated by Chris Brinkley and Amanda Stribling, both narrators were excellent!
