How can I rewire my brain from anxiety? How can I rewire my brain to be positive? Scientists once thought that the brain was locked in place after puberty. But new technology shows that our brain continues to rewire itself and never stops changing as we age. We're gradually understanding that the adult brain is capable of physical change and rewiring in response to stimuli. But if you conceive of the brain as a colossally complex series of wires and computer connections, we're still basically babies with a Fisher-Paykel chisel, banging at the circuit board.

Publisher's summary
Music can undoubtedly elevate our spirit, induce an extraordinary reverie, and even compel a move or two. But wouldn't it be a surprise to learn that music can actually be applied therapeutically to treat cognitive, sensory, and motor dysfunctions?
A wealth of research has shown that music can be applied as a form of therapy to retrain and reeducate the injured brain. It is currently being applied in the treatment of traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease, cerebral palsy, Parkinson's disease, stroke, autism, aphasia, and much besides.
Music is also an effective approach in dealing with children, depression, anxiety, child birth, and the rehabilitation of speech and language.
You will learn....
- What do music therapy sessions look like?
- Neuroscience and music therapy
- Benefits of music therapy in the treatment of depression
- Music therapy as a medicine
- Children and music therapy
- And much more!
This audiobook discusses every facet of music therapy: who can benefit from it; what the therapy sessions look like; its application as medicine; its relationship with neuroscience; and much more. The audiobook also dilates the various techniques employed in neurological music therapy (NMT), ranging from rhythmic auditory stimulation (RAS) to melodic intonation therapy (MIT).

Music teacher thought(high school)
I believe this audio book gave me ideas on how to incorporate music sounds, lyrics and theory into practice during this pandemic. I was able to understand basic human feelings about music and create projects based on sound and using it to get students to share their views. Mental health is an issue and not a problem. We have to nurture our future by creating outlets. All music matters.

intro to music therapy
This book is a great intro to music therapy, it's types and uses. It moves quickly, and wets the appetite for more information.
I did not realize there were so many applications for music therapy and how extensively it can be used! The author presents brief introductions to therapy for all ages from the unborn to the elderly, for many physical conditions from heart problems to stroke rehabilitation, and for mental conditions from childhood behavioral issues to anxiety to Alzheimer's.
This book does not provide how-to, but indicates that one should seek out a properly trained music therapy professional.

Poor delivery with some basic facts
This basic text is so terribly delivered… It may have well been read by a robot, so boring is the voice of the narrator.
I would suggest this is not really a book but more a information leaflet, however as a concise list of the different types of MT available it is a good starting point.

Story

Why are some people so highly attuned to others that they seem psychic, while other people put both feet in it over and over again? Why are some people always up and others always down? In this hotly anticipated book, award-winning, pioneering neuroscientist Richard J. Davidson answers these questions by offering an entirely new model of our emotions - their origins, their power, and their malleability.
