This title uses virtual voice narration

Virtual voice is computer-generated narration for audiobooks.
The new mystery series for fans of Agatha Christie and cozy crime.

Penny Küfer has finally realized her lifelong dream by beginning her first week of training as a detective. But instead of the hoped-for well wishes from friends and family, she finds herself disinherited by her class-conscious mother and dumped by her grasping fiancé.

There is only one consolation left to her: the long-dreamed-of trip on the Occident Express, the most luxurious train ever to run on Europe's rails.
But even before the ambitious young sleuth can enjoy her first glass of champagne, she finds herself with a corpse—in her own compartment, no less.

Each book in the series can be read individually and in any order.

“Penny Küfer is a young Miss Marple for the 21st century.”

I didn't like the voice. The rhythm wasn't as smooth as other audiobooks I listen to

The story might have been interesting but the choppiness of the voice rhythm did not make a pleasant listening experience.

The story wasn’t all bad. It was entertaining, but the fact that it was read by AI/a virtual voice and not a human actor was very disconcerting. No warmth no inflection I couldn’t get into the story because the speaker had no depth. I hope that Audible is not moving away from human actors. The books are much more entertaining and easier to get into if you don’t feel like you’re being read to by a robot. I’d rather listen to an annoying human voice than a cold robot. From this point forward, I will pay more attention to who the reader is and I for sure will not purchase an AI read book.

AI voice does not substitute for a human reading

Terrible narration. Wooden, staccato, zero nuance. I was surprised, frankly. if you are going to mimic a voice and could pick any, why would you make it so that it completely leaches out the good of the story?

AI voice not for the win
