Articulation and relatability

Dave touches on so many different subjects in his latest book. I can relate to many of his struggles, and I’m able to go on his journey so easily with the way he presents his story. I found this book to be a practical approach to apply my own journey with climbing. I loved every chapter! Dave is a down-to-earth legend!

Authentic and excellent!

This was an excellent listen! It's become one of my new favorites in the genre. The book gives a great view into the internal world of a climber striving both in sport and in life.

A life lesson, with some climbing

I wish I could wipe my memory and listen to this book once a month. Dave's excellent storytelling skills have caught me by surprise. It's been far too long since I was dying for the next time I could read or listen because I was enjoying a book so much. If you climb, you must read this book. I found myself muttering, "Just pull like hell..." in Dave's calming accent right before getting on the wall to do some hard (for me) training. Wish I could thank him personally for putting this book out there. I am still young and early in my climbing journey, hopefully. This book was deeply touching, teaching, and inspiring.

Insightful reading

The author brings great insights and perspectives not only into ones relationship with climbing, but also with one’s self, and the world around us. He also is a great narrator. I would love to hear more of Dave’s books on Audible.

Inspirational Read

Curiosity, fear, motivation, struggle, determination, passion, love, depression, and obsession. All of these words describe the pain Dave lays out in his book.

Absolutely Phenomenal Read!

Relatable

I’m almost 30, started my real and serious trainning for climbing less than 5 year ago, climbing and trainning became my life and I have to balance it with work and life, and regardless of this, I could feel the stories and relate to them within my own climbing history… big fan of Dave and now more than before, he’s just as human as me… thanks for the inspiration.
