More Than Nothing is full of page-turning suspense and slow-burn swoon. Small town goodness in spades is the cherry on top and I was ALL IN.”—Mia Sheridan, New York Times bestselling author.

Wildly romantic, More Than Nothing is the first book in the Pine Springs series—small-town Michigan, where there’s community, drama, heat, and heart.

With Elenie’s family the most hated in Pine Springs, keeping a low profile has become a way of life for her.

But then the new police chief, Roman Martinez, shows up at the diner where she’s a waitress, all muscle and badge and dangerous perception. And going under the radar just got that much harder.

He’s determined to take down a drug ring. The prime suspects? Elenie’s criminal stepfather and brothers. Keeping her distance would be the sensible choice, but what if she could help Roman put her family behind bars—and finally prove that she’s nothing like them?

Turning informant will be a dangerous game for them both. But it might be Elenie’s only chance to get the life—and the man—she’s always dreamed of…

Sometimes, you have to risk it all when the reward means everything.

Wonderful story! Author made it a very good story and I can’t wait for her next novel!

Wonderful story

Pine Springs book one has the cozy quaint small town vibes I love, but also has the dangerous undercurrents that come from a family on the wrong side of the law (and used to getting what they want)

The female MC Elanie was roped into her family’s bad name simply by association and I felt sad for her in the beginning of the book. The only job she could work was at the local diner because no one would hire someone with her last name.

The male MC Roman is the perfect tall dark and broody looking male lead, and also happens to be the new chief of police in town.

Their attraction is instant, and the pull to one another feels magnetic. The darkness in their past is always looming in their mind, finding someone who isn’t afraid of the dark feels like freedom.
Roman tries to fight it because be knows he should. If only things were different…

Forbidden love/small town romance/close proximity/second chances/protector

The narrators also did a great job conveying the emotion and tone in this book. It was easy to listen to and kept you wanting more.

Forbidden love

This book pulled me in from the very start. I loved that it was more than just a romance. It really showed Elenie’s growth as a character. She was such a well-written FMC, and all the extra linguistic elements she brought to the story made her stand out even more. And frankly made me laugh out loud at many of her quips. Roman, the MMC, is definitely unhinged when he finds someone he wants (in the best way). I loved how fiercely supportive he was, not just of Elenie but also of his family. The extra suspense in the storyline added a lot, too. It gave more depth to Elenie’s journey and made it feel like she was truly taking her destiny into her own hands. Overall, More Than Nothing was the perfect mix of romance, tension, and character growth.
