A good range of stories.

With maybe one exception, these kept me listening and entertained. There is one story that is left without telling you what the ending is, I didn’t love that, but it’s only one, and until the end, it was was keeping my complete attention. I will be looking for this authors other books, as this is the first I’ve read.

Loved this collection!

This is a great value of book for the price. I honestly had several favorites but I would be hard pressed to say which one. The audiobook is a whopper at 27 hours and so much fun.

A very entertaining horror collection!

What’s better than a very entertaining horror story? How about a collection of 29 – most of which are novella length. Monsters at Midnight by Nick Clausen is an awesome collection that will keep you engaged from the first to last story. I had the opportunity to listen to a review copy of the audiobook narrated by Spencer Dillehay and I can say I enjoyed every minute of the 37 hours and 10 minutes it took to go from the beginning to the end. Along with Spencer’s excellent narration and variety of character voices, I loved the author’s notes at the end of each of the selections. Those author notes brought each story into clear focus as to Mr. Clausen’s mindset when he wrote the story and how some tied into his personal life. If you have enjoyed any or all of Nick’s postapocalyptic stories/series, you should check out Monsters at Midnight to get a clearer picture of his storytelling abilities.

An Awesome Collection

This was a collection of 29 Horror Stories, and it was amazing. The stories were of different lengths. The tales were varied and diverse: some of the stories featured typical horror characters such as ghosts, vampires, werewolves, etc, and other stories featured eccentric characters whose actions inspired feelings of horror and creepiness. All the stories were good, but there were some that I liked more than others. I enjoyed the author's notes in which the author explained what inspired the story. These brief summaries added to my appreciation of the author's work. Spencer Dillehay's narration was engaging, and his performance added to the story's entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.
