George Uffenham, the eccentric sixth viscount of Uffenham, has just converted the family fortune into diamonds - and stashed them away in a secret hiding place. But as luck would have it, an unfortunate car accident soon thereafter causes him to forget the jewels' location. In order to recover the gems, he must let out his estate, Shipley Hall, to big-game hunter Clarissa Cork and return posing as the butler, Cakebread. Thus disguised he will have the opportunity to search all the rooms and reclaim his family pile!

In typical Wodehouse fashion, Money in the Bank is a lively narrative full of witty banter, bumbling buffoons, and wild shenanigans.

Brilliant reading of a delightful story

Simon Vance performed perfectly all the characters and nuances of Wodehouse's delightfully different story. Wonderful!

Bank on PGW

Vance may not quite be Douglas, but he did a pretty workmanlike job. As for Wodehouse, there are no superlatives great enough to describe his genius.

Not his best

The wordplay wasn’t as clever or as humorous as in most of his other works. The narrator did an excellent job for most of the characters .

Pay close attention; the plot is rather complex

The performer did an excellent job of portraying different voices for each of the characters. Their voices were recognizable thanks to his consistency.

Wodehouse is a master of creative use of language

A very engaging story with wonderful twists in the plot. Simon Vance's narration was excellent.

Amusing Wodehouse nicely read

A nice diversion in the characteristic Wodehouse style. Elaborate farcical plot. Aristocrats. Bounders. Romantic complications. And the whole ridiculous situation described in elegant language. Keep attention during the first 4 chapters or so to get the characters, backstories and lies down pat, then enjoy as it unwinds.

I can't get enough Simon Vance. His skill is unsurpassed . Never failing to add that little extra, setting him apart as a great narrator. Thank you Mr. Vance!

Wonderful Romantic Comedy Romp

A classic Wodehouse story full of twists and turns; assumed names and a hunt for treasure. I’m so glad I discovered these light-hearted, hilarious tales.

A wonderful Wodehouse story.

This is a laugh-out-loud lWoodhouse story. Great performance, some new characters, particularly liked Cake bread and the huntress.

Wodehouse delivers again

Funny as ever with a whole cast of new characters, like the mad Viscount masquerading as a butler and two American gangsters selling fake shares in an imaginary oil well, all the usual characters to be found in an English country house in the 1930s
