Light and Fun

Any additional comments?

This series is just delightful. No, it's not fine literature, but if you're driving or doing chores, it's highly entertaining. The characters are nuanced enough and the stories are interesting. Just finished #3 and am bereft of joy that there's no #4...yet?

Another Fun Tourist Trap Mystery

Any additional comments?

I appear to really be getting into "cozy mysteries". I'm having fun, and this is no different. It's the second book of the series (of which I've listened to the first and third), and it seems to keep me on my toes. There are enjoyable twists and surprises. Fun, relaxing, read (or listen, as the case may be :-) )

Another good book

Overall, this book is okay. The main character, Jill, isn't very bright and there are many times when I had to shake my head at her thoughtlessness. There is a very good supporting cast of characters and the mystery plot is actually very good. I would recommend this to anyone who likes light mysteries and a little romance.

Light and fun murder thriller

There are quite a few choices in the light and fun mystery/thriller category. Few are better than Lynn Cahoon's tourist trap mysteries. I award this book 5 stars realizing that it is not great literature. Susan Boyce does a really nice job of narrating. Recommended as a nice break from heavier/more serious mysteries.

Good

The first book in the series was better but this was good. The relationship between Jill and Greg was a little too syrupy for me

Murder at The Castle

Book two in the Tourist Trap series is just as much fun as the first. Jill Gardner and her aunt are still busy running Coffee, Books, and More and waiting for the historical commission to come and verify the wall on their property as the location of the centuries old mission as an historic landmark. But there’s a fly in the ointment. Craig Morgan, owner of The Castle, the biggest tourist attraction in town is contesting her claim, and he seems to have the mayor in his pocket. Of course, Jill makes it her business to find out what evidence he has and is seen arguing with Craig. And the next thing you know, he’s found murdered. With Jill the top suspect, Greg King, the police investigator, and Jill’s boyfriend has to work hard to find the murderer before the town and the mayor demand he arrest Jill for the crime. Meanwhile, Jill’s Aunt Jackie books a Mystery Author Event for the book shop and has the town awhirl about it. And then there’s Toby, Deputy Detective and part time worker at the coffee/book shop . . . and heartthrob to all the ladies in town. I grin every time I think about him having all the girls from young to old wrapped around his little finger. This is a fun series and a great escape!
