started out good

Wanted to like it. It fell in a weird spot where it tried to be more than it was. lots of talking back and forth to the point you realize you lost interest. star of book felt right but by the first quarter it gets boring and never recovers. Narrators are 5 stars though.

Weird consent system?

The book long winded but ok. The problem i have with this book is this consent system. it is a futuristic society that can tell when when sexual thing happen with out consent. Its just odd to add to the book and very out of place. There is a part where 2 chatacter have to give consent to kiss. First off normally programs would have some kind of setting or preference that could be set to just be okay all the time to kiss or more. especially when the 2 people in question have a long history of trusting each other. This system would have to be monitoring all the people in the society and then deciding if there actions are sexual. this would be some serious AI but this very advanced AI can't tell when a person wants to not have sexual contact and need express approval with conset. Its like saying my cat can do math but can't walk. it just weird. For example this Al needs to have spatial awareness of everyone and the corsponding context but can't tell when a individual doesn't want it. It could listen for a "no" or just a person in destress. Not to mention always having big brother watching you sexual/intimate moments is really creepy. This system is just really unnecessary for this book and really odd to add. Why would the author add this? (spoilers) The mc keeps frying electronic so what is even spying on him to ask for consent? This just ruined the book for me.

awful

The story is confusing and after stating one thing almost immediately contradicts and changes, flimsy. Dear God one other thing that is suffering is the chewing and speaking at the same time. If any future writers read this have your characters swallow before speaking.

good

so excellent narration and interesting story but we don't get much action is more like a slice of life with some combat to make it fun also the rpg elements are pretty much useless and it takes over half of the book for the mc to finally show up at the Maze and he there for a very short time and doesn't return until pretty much the end of the book

Greatness Achieved

I really think this is a great beginning to a series. I love Harem LitRPG, like a lot. I also appreciate that this wasn't over sexualized, staying the perfect amount to be considered as fan service and appreciated without getting to the level of completely unrealistic situation erotica.

Fun and entertaining!

Good story and narration!

Dean lives on a fishing planet, and enjoys spending his Summers catching the dangerous and monstrous creatures of the deep. That all changes when he gains lightning magic and is introduced to the battle that rages behind the scenes between light and dark. Now he must journey to the minotaur's maze to fight for the future of his world!

Daniel and Rebecca do a great job with the narration!

I'm looking forward to see where the story goes from here!

I really enjoyed this one!

Huge potential but ruined by a lawful stupid MC.

Huge potential but ruined by a lawful stupid MC.
MC has potential to be a good character but his constant morale mess ups make him fall into the unfortunate paladin category.

Wanted a fantasy story not a fish mans tail

Prelude is a quick story of a dungeon. The next 5 chapters are about a guy on a fishing boat. Couldn't make it any further. Wanted a fantasy story, got a fishing tale. Give it a pass.

The worst book I have ever accidentally purchased

You kidding me? How can anyone like this book. Half of it is about fishing. The other half random accents with random characters popping up all over the place. This book just droned on and on and on... Waste of over ten hours of my life. I do not recommend this book at all.

Poor pace and 90% introduction

Currently at about 6 hours and still in the introduction we have been introduce to about 2 actual characters the others are just filler. The paceing is honestly horrendous nothing has happened and I am very bored.

Definitely alot to take on for a first book.

Performance is amazing But the many characters that could become the main character took the shine away from the main group of characters. Confused me in keeping track of who was who at some points and why bother keeping track sometimes it felt. Honestly you could cut out a third of the story just to move it along cause not much happens or they take you away from the main reason for the story mainline to even move on some. Its a weird story that the main characters aren't actually that important to the story goal since Marcuss has put so many side characters in that could take over and do the job better or faster. So it'll come down to the favouritism of the Gods and Luck roll.
So after a story with a spare cred too sink time into with wonderfully voiced characters and have their own quirks. This one is a good book. Just don't be surprised if it takes awhile for the main group of characters to actually get their ball rolling, about 13 hrs in and they get their heads in the maze game zone.
