Very enjoyable start to a new series

Lindsay Buroker has written an enjoyable start to her new series. The characters are well developed and believable.
Vivienne Leheny, as always, gave a stellar performance as she breathed life into the storyline and gave each character their own distinct voice.
I highly look forward to the next in series.

Really enjoyed it

I’ve been a fan of Lindsey Buroker from the beginning . Sometimes I will put one of her space odysseys on if I’m having sleep issues. This way when I wake up I know what’s going on and can follow until sleep overtakes me. This is the first witchy book I’ve enjoyed. I will look for more.

Love it!

I'm so mad that I have ignored this series! I thought it was going to let me down after listening to almost all of Lindsay's work, but I was WRONG WRONG WRONG! This series hooks you in the beginning and you know after the first couple chapters, you are going to have to know how it ends! This is definitely worth the listen!

Awesome

This is the first book I've read by this author. I was immediately engaged in the story. The characters are well developed and the story is entertaining. I'm already a fan of this series and look forward to the next book.

No spoilers

This is a review for all the books in the series. first you just can't go wrong with a Buroker book every single book I've listened to has been fantastic well written and characters you want to know action laughs and romance. I will say this Buroker's 1 st book in a series starts slow at least for me then about 1\4 to 1\2 way in oh man they take off and stay that way to the end of a series. Leheny dose a really good job and have come to love her. I really really wish the Audible would come out faster that's my only complaint. oh if your new to this author that me you won't be sorry

Enjoyable Witch Fantasy

Although I don’t lean towards this genre of fantasy novels, so far the first of this series is intriguing with plot twists and characters that draw you in. I am looking forward to continuing with the series

Whole Series: Decent story with meh narration

This is for the whole 5 book series.

I've read Lindsay Buroker before (specifically Star Kingdom and Elf Tangen). Her character tropes are instantly recognizable. I don't mind the repetition as I enjoy them. Just be warned, like other sci fi authors, you'll come to feel her mark. One slightly annoying quirk of LB is time dilation to allow witty comments—the demon is very slowly "sprinting" at them if they can fit in a few paragraphs of funny comments. Besides that, it's a fun an enjoyable story. Good for a beach read.

To the bad part, and this is coming from someone who doesn't complain about narrators often: what is with the terrible Mexican accents? They're laugh out loud fake sounding. (Ironically, the "Spanish accents" in Wolf Wood sound like the elf mercenaries in Elf Tangent. Is this the narrators only gruff male voice?) As a more intangible complaint, the main character sounds young and carefree, which makes the tone off, giving wrong emotion to many scenes.

I really enjoyed this book.

I really enjoyed this video book. The narrators were very good. The story was wonderful. I look forward too her next book.

Slow burn romance

I am familiar with Ms. Buroker and Ms. Leheny so I knew this book would have potential. I’ve enjoyed a lot of Ms. Buroker’s stories (including those under different pen names) and I’ve always liked Ms. Leheny’s performances. I liked that Morgan wasn’t an 18-year-old girl wonder but a mature woman with common problems. There was, of course, mystery murder and mayhem but the Romance is just barely there. It’s obvious that the romance will be developed over the series but there was no erotica in this book which I actually liked. Too often the erotica has just become filler in today’s romances. Ms. Leheny created her usual stellar performance.
