About this listen

Christmas is the season of the heart, and number one New York Times best-selling author Debbie Macomber is here to warm yours with a delightful holiday novel of first impressions and second chances.

Merry Knight is pretty busy these days. She's taking care of her family, baking cookies, decorating for the holidays, and hoping to stay out of the crosshairs of her stressed and by-the-book boss at the consulting firm where she temps. Her own social life is the last thing she has in mind, much less a man. Without her knowledge, Merry's well-meaning mom and brother create an online dating profile for her - minus her photo - and the matches start rolling in. Initially, Merry is incredulous, but she reluctantly decides to give it a whirl.

Soon, Merry finds herself chatting with a charming stranger, a man with similar interests and an unmistakably kind soul. Their online exchanges become the brightest part of her day. But meeting face-to-face is altogether different, and her special friend is the last person Merry expects - or desires. Still, sometimes hearts can see what our eyes cannot. In this satisfying seasonal tale, unanticipated love is only a click away.

Cute Christmas story

Debbie Macomber always writes good stories. This one will really get you into the Christmas spirit. Merry is working as a temp during the holidays, her boss is a tyrant. Unbeknownst to Merry her mother and brother sign her up on a dating site for her birthday. She is at first upset, but tries it out anyway. There she meets a Jay (aka Jason) her boss at work. She does not realize this until they plan to meet. The story has little surprises, but I really liked it.

LOVE!!!

Can Audible have men and women read your stories, especially a romance novel!?! The women who read these stories, sound ridiculous trying to sound like a man! It clearly takes away from the novel! Poor woman had to kiss herself then tell herself as himself oh your so hot, then herself says to herself your not so bad yourself! then do voices of about a dozen ppl reacting to herself, but not really herself, wink wink! I'M SO CONFUSED...........

Predictable but entertaining holiday story

I did not enjoy the narrator's tone and speed of reading. It seemed hurried and abrasive. The story itself is charming but predictable. It's a quick holiday themed boy meets girl story. Typical holiday romance theme that you'd see on the Hallmark channel.

If you’v seen the movie, you’ve read this book. Having said that, it’s still a fun holiday read.

Cute Christmas story

Cute Christmas story. It was a little predictable, but cute. Characters were a little stilted, but the narrator did a nice job bringing them to life.

Merry Pride-and-Prejudice

Mother with MS, brother with Down Syndrome, father on the road, self-sacrificing heroine who takes care of everybody else, holding down a job with a demanding and crabby boss. Yada yada yada. Being diabetic, I have to limit my sugar intake, almost threw it out a few minutes in.

But no! This is an entirely predictable and charming little Christmas story, well written. The plot is Lizzie Bennett and Mr. Darcy in Seattle, except that she has a much nicer family.

Four solid stars for being really well done as a nice holiday distraction.

Cute Story

Cute story, could be a Hallmark movie. I was not a big fan of the readers voice.
