another terrific Bates book. I was on the sea with these awful and awesome creatures.

A bit slow

There is too much lecture and too little action until nearly the end of the book. I disliked the hurried ending which seemed to come out of nowhere. Parts were good but I can’t see reading anything else by this author.

Interesting story

I enjoyed it, but it wasn't scary. Most of the story read more like a fascinating lecture in college on marine science as the writer has done a lot of research on the aquatic ape theory, but overall I enjoyed it.

Awesome

This would make for the scariest movie! Please let someone in Hollywood read this! Great book! Do read!

Pulled me right in. Kept the excitement throughout. Developed characters quickly and the story never slowed down.
