An eye opener

I listened to this book on Audible. It was very helpful. All-in-all this was a real eye-opener. For one, it helped me see that my adult son definitely displays many ADHD symptoms. Though he was diagnosed at a young age, after listening to this book, I can see how he has progressed over the years. I was able to pinpoint and label certain symptoms that manifest more than others. This audiobook has helped me to define certain actions more clearly. It was also revealing in that some of my son’s actions now totally make sense. I think what helped me the most was the “reframing” exercise, and I am going to start doing that when we have issues to deal with that are affected by my son’s ADHD. I learned that, if we foster a growth mindset, we can all help with the negative thoughts which frequently arise and are a huge factor in dealing with problems as they come up. My son also suffers from depression, and I think after listening to this book I can see how we can help with that. Perfectionism and polarization are huge, being one of the things we see most often, and I feel better equipped to help manage those two big issues. We can harness his hyper-focus as one of his superpowers! I love the helpful steps and information and have hope that we can help my son’s ADHD be better managed by our family. Great book for anyone confronted with ADHD on any level.

Outstanding techniques to live well with ADHD

The final few chapters that provide specific tools and techniques to improve one’s life with ADHD are remarkably informative. I will definitely re-listen to the final chapters several more times about every 90 days.

Eye opening

This book explained a lot about my personal relationships that I was unaware of. Although my compensating skills work great in the workplace they hurt my social relationships. Great to know this enabled me to be more self aware. It also gives me great points to work on to be a better friend and partner.
