Publisher's Summary

In this revised edition of the best-selling book The Measure of a Man, Gene Getz delivers the newly enhanced message of what it takes to be a man of God. Men will gain encouragement for what they can be in Christ as fathers, husbands, and mentors to other men.

Since 1974, The Measure of a Man has taught hundreds of thousands of men around the world how to live according to God's direction faithfully, lovingly and spiritually. True masculinity is not measured by a man's strength, but by these 20 biblical guidelines. With life applications and words of inspiration, here is Gene's greatest work fully rewritten and updated to reach the new generation of modern men.

Excellent

I have listened to this book several times now. I recommend it to any man who truly wants to change and become a true leader within his home, workplace, church and community. I continue to listen to this book as a source of encouragement and motivation. I continue to strive to make the necessary changes in my life to love my wife and children the way Christ commands. Every beginning has a starting place and every beginning has an ending. Let this book begin your journey so you finish the race well.

If you need help this book may be what you need

if you need help this book may be what you need; however, if you are looking for how to improve a moderately OK life then this is not your book. If you just need a ffew pointers in life, this is not your guide. This book seemed more for the "the world is crap" male mind-set. Sorry, I'm not even close to that mind-set, so I couldn't relate. I suggest "The Male Brain," as a very good read/listen.

Decent read for Christians (men and women, alike)

A little old fashion (which is to be expected given when it was written), however there were good nuggets of information in here. I felt the author did seem to self promote his book a lot (which I found a bit annoying).
