Mean Streak: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!*

From #1 The New York Times best-selling author Sandra Brown comes a heart-pounding story of survival, that takes the age-old question, "Does the end justify the means?" and turns it on its head.

Dr. Emory Charbonneau, a pediatrician and marathon runner, disappears on a mountain road in North Carolina. By the time her husband Jeff, miffed over a recent argument, reports her missing, the trail has grown cold. Literally. Fog and ice encapsulate the mountainous wilderness and paralyze the search for her.

While police suspect Jeff of "instant divorce", Emory, suffering from an unexplained head injury, regains consciousness and finds herself the captive of a man whose violent past is so dark that he won't even tell her his name. She's determined to escape him and willing to take any risks necessary to survive.

Unexpectedly, however, the two have a dangerous encounter with people who adhere to a code of justice all their own. At the center of the dispute is a desperate young woman whom Emory can't turn her back on, even if it means breaking the law. Wrong becomes right at the hands of the man who strikes fear but also sparks passion.

As her husband's deception is revealed, and the FBI closes in on her captor, Emory begins to wonder if the man with no name is, in fact, her rescuer from those who wish her dead - and from heartbreak.

Combining the nail-biting suspense and potent storytelling that has made Sandra Brown one of the world's best loved authors, Mean Streak is a wildly compelling novel about love, deceit, and the choices we must make in order to survive.

Highly Enjoyable

All up a satisfying listen. Great narration. I also enjoyed the music. It helped tell the story.

Best

This was the best book yet. Whodunit with a twist. You won't be able to put it down.

Intriguing

I almost skipped over this because of the reviews, but glad I didn't. I find the music complimented the story very well. Audiobooks usually put me to sleep, but the music kept me engaged. I only wish it was a bit more audible. Sometimes it was little hard to hear, wishing I could turn it up a little.

Great book narrated by an amazing voice!

It has been years since I read a Sandra Brown book. The music and narrator really bring the story line alive. It was an amazing experience. I don't know if I can go back to "reading" books again. Great job!

Full of twists and turns

I really enjoyed the story and the characters but I can't say I enjoyed the background music very much found it distracting.

Skip this one, sadly

Love Sandra Brown and good story as I have read it in the past. This is almost unbearable to read as there is background music throughout the novel. Totally unnecessary and wrecks any chance of enjoying the story.

Unnecessary, distracting music.

The music accompanying the narration is awful and distracting. The story and narrator were good.

Another great one

I love the story and the narration but I HATE the background music and noises. Those sounds are distracting from the story, they don't add to it. I asked a listener/reader need the words to paint the story and suspense, the music is just annoying.

Phenomenal Story, Horrid Music

I absolutely loved this book but I have to agree with most of the reviews on the music. It was horrible. So distracting. It is way more offensive in the beginning so if you can get through that part, it does get better! But some of the time, I would find myself missing parts in the book because the music was playing. Other than that, it is a great story!

Terrible music

The book was ok, pretty ordinary and predictable which is what you come to Sandra Brown for but the music absolutely destroyed the narration for me. Don’t bother.
