Sometimes the infections in the reader's voice didn't match my perception of what was happening.

Loved the intense of this book. It was spicey, funny, intense, loving and all around great book.

Mystery

I liked how the story had a surprising ending. I liked the description of the characters which made you feel like you knew them.

Not her best

I've been a Sandra Brown fan for decades. I don't think there is book she's written that I haven't read. I've always loved her stories and her writing, so it pains me to have to rate this one as mediocre. The characters are well-developed, the love story intriguing, and the bad guys are despicable. But, there is a trite, easily anticipated flow to it that made me want to fast-forward through too much of the book, and the narrator is just so-so. He's robotic at times and so carefully enunciates the big words, its distracting. I will still read her next book if, and when, it comes out. But, I wouldn't be able to recommend this one.

The plot was outstanding

Sandra Brown has long been an automatic buy for me. Ms Brown has a way of making you feel as if you're a part of the story. John and Beth form an odd partnership as they delve into a series of murders of young women. Go along for the ride, you won't be sorry!

Boring

Hard to follow for 1st two hours ; finally got to the gist of the story line but was underwhelmed.

Intriguing Story with Horrible Narration

I have read every single Sandra Brown book, and for the last few years, I alternate between the audio and Kindle versions. I am in the car two hours every day commuting to work so I usually enjoy the audio while in the car and switch to Kindle at night in bed. Listening to this one was excruciating. The author’s voice was grating on me. PLUS, and probably more egregious, he mispronounced words throughout the book. How did that get past the editors? I was very disappointed in what is usually a great read.

Suspense

It kept my attention Very well written. The Arther is a very good writer! I can’t wait till I can find another great book she has written
