Publisher's Summary

Stephanie Little firmly believes the world exists in two states: right and wrong; good and evil; unlawful and law-abiding. She chose her side the moment she joined the FBI and pledged to rid the world of as many criminals as possible.

Maverick is everything Stephanie isn’t: inked, pierced, flirty, masculine as sin, but most of all, an outlaw. When corruption in Stephanie’s crime-fighting world lands her in the clutches of a dangerous gangster, Maverick is there to keep her sane and battle for her protection.

With Stephanie’s neat existence so turned around that she can no longer distinguish the good from the evil, she finds herself thrust into a world so gray she can’t see three feet in front of her face. To survive the confusion, she turns to the only person who keeps her grounded: the sexy outlaw who melts her heart and weakens her knees.

But law enforcement and criminals can never mix. Not in the way her body and heart are begging for. At some point, someone is going to learn her secret, and when that happens her fierce protector could become her greatest enemy.

There was one loose end forgotten that could have made a good book, great!

I really liked some of the elements of this book, a lot. I was really touched with how the two kidnap victims connected and supported each other. I also really appreciated the way that the Heroine grew, as an individual, by acknowledging that the world isn’t black and white, but many shades of grey. I also appreciated the subtle differentiation explained between, the letter of the law and the spirited the law. I also enjoyed experience the emotional growth of the Hero. I also loved the Hero’s ability to not hold a grudge and actually forgive and forget.( most people don’t have that ability.)
I really enjoyed most of the plot but felt like the author missed a great opportunity for the Heroine to make her corrupt boss pay for his actions. I really hated that he got away with his abuse of power and lack of decency. If the Heroine could have righted that wrong, I think it would have made a powerful statement.
That being said, I still really enjoyed listening to this book. Do yourself a favor and hit download.

The performances are good, story, not so much

I continue to love how the performances are done in this book series. The story doesn't make much sense. The character of Stephanie isn't likeable. She's conflicted from the beginning, but goes along with the bs her job is keeping up. Whatever, I'm just anxious to get to Copper's story.

Good Story!

This is such a great bikers story. I love Maverick and Stephanie. Maverick is one to always have his mind in the gutter. Maverick and Stephanie meet under circumstances that forges a bond between the two. I love the closeness between him and his brothers of the MC. Narrators did a great job.

Maverick is awesome, Stephanie not so much

Maverick is one of the most badass characters ever! He is so strong, brave, and sexy! He endures unimaginable pain to save a woman he barely knows from being raped and never loses his cocky swagger. I love the Hells Handlers. They may be a bit (okay a lot) rough around the edges but they are the good guys. Unfortunately I had issues with the rest of the story. I don't like stories where one character is keeping a big huge secret for so long. It's just not my thing. It seemed to drag on and on. I wanted to choke Stephanie and tell her to come clean and explain how she was trying to keep them safe. It was just the last little bit of the story that the truth came out. Had it came out earlier and progressed a little differently then I might have liked it more.

Cold have been perfect.

Maverick & Stephanie. Stupid moves by a stupid woman. Best example :A 5'3" woman, with only basic hand to hand skills ,getting out of the car to save the woman from two big men without a weapon, when she was sitting in the perfect weapon was a really dumb move. Up until that point It was almost believable. The FBI in this book was a piece of work. Leaving a agent that they had outed to be killed & burying a crooked agent as a hero was sick.

love love love!

I loved this as much as the first one! I was nervous because Stephanie the female lead has a very naive view of the world, thinking right is right and wrong is wrong no grey area, and that just doesnt fit with a MC book. fortunately the author works this well into the story, and stephanie doesnt even come across as annoying or immature like I thought. She was very fierce and did everything she could to protect Mav and his club. Mav, is a tattooed/pierced God with a heart of gold and battered past, he was so sweet with stephanie, and despite his past he actually had a very healthy outlook on life and Stephanie and the lies she told to him when he finds out. These books are exciting but laid back in a perfect balance and quite funny! Definitely a high recommendation from me!

a really good story

I loved hearing every minute if this book. The men and the women are strong, loyal and that makes one heck of a family within the MC. While this is maverick's and stephanie story I have to say that Cooper the president us more than a fair man.
These two people are attracted to each other they try and look out for each other in drastic times. But can it last they are both from different sides of the fence.
The narrators are wonderful totally enjoyed listening to them both.

and it keeps on coming

really enjoyed maverick. I thought Lilly was writing herself into a corner with what maverick had to learn about Steph, that and the MC rules. it was a nice get out of the corner twist, yes there was unsolved endings for Stephs part of the story but to close it the author would have had to write a lot more into the plot. I think it would have complicated the series feel...going deeper than what Lilly was portraying with these books. so I'm ok with a loose end.
dual narration is brilliant and I hope I'm not spoiled now for listening to the other narrator's.
Will return for jigsaw's story but going to listen to another book with Jacob Morgan and ava just to make sure I'm not spoiled 😁😁😁
