Publisher's Summary

There's just something about a man who can dance, and Mason James has the kind of moves that turn a woman's thoughts to what that body of his could do off the dance floor. Mason's been breaking hearts so long it's part of his nature. There's not a woman he can't seduce.

When he shows up in Cotton Creek, the women perk right up and take a sudden interest in dance lessons. No one realizes that teaching dancing is as far from the truth of who he really is as it gets.

In all honesty, he's not sure what he is anymore. He came back to Cotton Creek because it's the only real home he's ever known. He didn't expect to like it and sure didn't expect to have a baby left on his doorstep or to meet someone who made him wonder if it wasn't time he stopped letting women chase him and do some chasing of his own.

Mason💘Savannah! Great Story, Great Audible Listen🎧

I loved this story it is well written and well told. The storylines Ciana Stone created are interesting and captivated me from start to end. Her characters are complex and well developed. Savannah, a successful author and business owner has not had an easy life, from a horrible childhood to a loveless marriage. She relocates to Cotton Creek to work with another author and have a fresh start. She likes what she sees there. especially Mason James, the hot dance instructor and an overall nice guy. But she thinks he is out of her league but Mason James thinks otherwise. I loved the chemistry between the two and how good they were for each other. Their story offers so much, from her heartbreaking history to who he really is. There are surprises, twists, drama, suspense and hot romance! I highly recommend this book! Ciana Stone thank your for the great story. I will be checking out the rest of your Heartbreakers & Heroes series and become a resident at Cotton Creek for a while.

I listened to the Audible edition, Rhett Samuel Price is a wonderful narrator and voice performer. He brings the characters to life, gives each their own voice and personality. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen🎧

Heartwarming & Heart Wrenching!

I absolutely loved this story! It was both heartwarming and heart wrenching. Mason James was every woman’s perfect hero. He was honorable, caring, gorgeous and so much more and he could dance! Savannah had a horrendous childhood and had so much to deal with in her life. She is a sweet, caring woman who thinks of others before herself. This was such an emotionally charged story. It is a story of abuse, parental love, secrets, and more. Have a box of tissues close by while you listen to this one because you are going to need them. I did have a good laugh at one point though when Mason had to wake Savanna up in the middle of the night…but you’ll have to listen to find out why. There were some twists in the story that kept it interesting, not that it was necessary as it kept my interest from start to finish. I certainly highly recommended this book. Rhett Samuel Price does a fabulous job with the narration bringing the story to life and making the listening experience that much more enjoyable. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

Unexpected Parenthood

Mason has come home, retired and starting a new life, as a dance instructor. Savannah is a writer with an amazing talent and a past that is hard. Two hearts find healing together and an unexpected arrival brings them even closer. The narrator is amazing and you can visualize the dirty dancing.

A lot of angst and drama in this romance..........

Mason James is the second book in this series, but I have not read book one, and I had no difficulty following the story. This book is definitely a high angst and high drama romance, but it is still very entertaining if you don't mind a tug or twenty on the heartstrings. Mason James appears to be a gorgeous bad boy who is working in Cotton Creek as a dance instructor. Of course, with that description, you can imagine that every woman in town is lusting after him. However, he is pretty aloof from the attention, and the author keeps hinting at some dark and mysterious past for him. When he meets Savannah and begins giving her dancing lessons, the spark between the two is instantaneous. Savannah is an incredibly successful career woman; after building and selling several health spas, she is now a romance writer. She has come to Cotton Creek to stay with friends and write a collaboration with a famous local author. Like Mason, Savannah has many secrets of her own, and it truly broke my heart listening to her tragic past once it is revealed. For all of his appearance to the contrary, Mason is a deeply caring, responsible, trustworthy man, and all of these strengths are just intensified once the author finally tells us his true history. This story will bring some tears, but it just makes the HEA that more satisfying in the end.

Rhett Samuel Price is an amazing narrator, and he does his usual excellent job with this book. He differentiates very well between characters, and he adds the perfect level of emotion. It takes a talented narrator to handle highly emotional scenes well, and Price is terrific with Savannah's voice when she is crying and getting upset. Luckily, there are plenty of happy and sensual scenes as well, and Price is the perfect choice with his deep, velvety voice.

I received a copy of this audiobook at my request in exchange for this honest review.

A Wonderful Listen!!

I absolutely loved this lovely romance! There was a reviewer who really had problems with this story causing them to stop listening at Chapter 12. To that reviewer I say...apparently we were listening to two different stories. The story is well written and the characters nicely developed. The only complaint I have is the mention of Savannah's baby out of the blue with really no other information to let us know what happened but that doesn't mean the story is full of inconsistencies! The story flows very well and doesn't get bogged down by trivial matters (like Savannah and her friends talking about what's going on - the same critical reviewer commented on this). Anyway, the story is wonderful, heartfelt and completely lovely. There were many times I could relate to Savannah's feelings and know exactly how she felt about the bad boy noticing the geek! My husband was the bad boy and somehow I got his attention, so yeah, I was blown away just like she was! (lol)

The narration by Rhett Samuel Price was well done. He gave each character their own voice and emotions. He truly brought the story to life and pulled the listener in with his smooth voice and excellent storytelling skills!

Dirty Dancing meets Maybury

I liked this book, it had a decent storyline but it did seem to need something. It came across a little stiff. I think Rhett Samuel Price did a good job with the narration. Personally I needed to adjust the speed to get his voice comfortable for me. Once I did that, I was able to enjoy. He definitely gives each character their own voice.

Beautiful Story

I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This was one well written and narrated story. Just a smidgen of sex which was just enough. The story was the star of the show. All of the characters added to the story and brought it to life. Loved the daughter's dedication to he dad. too often events like this happen. Leaders we think are honorable turn out to be rotten to the core. So glad they found their HEA.

Great Read

Mason James was a great book by Ciana Stone. This is book two in the Heartbreakers & Heroes series. Mason has dance moves that all the women in their town want. No one knows that dance isn't the only thing to Mason. A baby is left on his doorstep and he doesn't know what to do. Fortunately for him, he has Savannah to help him. I absolutely loved reading Mason and Savannah's story and can't wait to read more in this series.

I stopped at chapter 12

I don't get all of the great reviews for this book. It was alright but there were some huge inconsistencies with the storyline. Savannah stops what she's doing to rush to Mason and help with the baby. Yet once she got there, the baby was not even mentioned. Mason can have a child dropped in his lap and move in with Savannah but Savannah and her friends don't discuss it - for weeks. I finally stopped listening in chapter 12 when a baby, a different one, was spoken about that had not existed before.

There is a very compelling backstory about Savannah's youth but not even that could keep me listening.

Good story but started a bit slow

Rhett Samuel Price did a good job narrating. His voice is very soothing and smooth so it was easy to change between the male and female characters. I wasn’t a huge fan of his female voice but he did an admirable job and during the very emotional times, he did an excellent job imparting that emotion, even if I didn't love his female voice. He tried for a few accents as well which were fun and he was good at differentiating between characters.

Initially, the story was about the start of the relationship between Mason, a dancer, and Savannah. About 1/3 through, we learned more about their pasts (Savannah’s past broke my heart) and I thought the story really became more heart warming, exciting and interesting. There was a good mix of romance, love and loyalty, intrigue and hope. So while i wasn't a huge fan of the beginning of the book, the middle and end more than made up for it. I didn't want to stop listening after it got into the real meat of the story. I'm definitely now interested in listening to the other stories in the series. By the way, this is the second book in the series and the couple of the first story makes quite a presence in this story so while it's not necessary to read the first book, I think that it would add to it just to learn their story. So perhaps that will go into my KU to see what happened!

Another one from the Honky Tonk crew

To be honest, I started off not being impressed with this audiobook. I found the characters to be shallow and was a bit concerned that the rest of the story would be a reflection of that shallowness. In this regard the book is sort of split in two. The shallow pre-baby Tommy first bit and the more plot-rich, action-oriented second half. The difference between the two parts is that the story strays from the focus on the pretty people and gets down to addressing the real stuff, including Tommy's sudden arrival, Savannah's traumatic childhood, Mason's job and so on. I definitely preferred the second half and thought there were some interesting twists and turns in the story.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
