Publisher's summary

From multi-award-winning singer, artist, actress, and icon Mary J. Blige comes a fun and inspirational story that teaches young listeners they can be anything, and they are enough.

Most of the time, people say “no” or “you can’t” because they dream too small.

Young Mary has been told that there are many things she can’t do. Like stay up past bedtime, or be an astronaut or become president. But what she really wants is to sing, and she isn’t about to let anyone tell her she can’t do it!

A powerful motivating tale about a confident and ambitious girl who doesn’t feed into negativity, this debut children’s book from legendary artist Mary J. Blige proves that anyone can make their dreams come true by believing in themselves. It's a great conversation starter for overcoming discouragement from others.

Brought to life, Mary Can! is perfect for go-getters who aren’t afraid to be a YES in a world full of NOs.

The positivity An excellent book for the children and anyone who doubt their ability to do or be what they dream to do or be.

I like the encouragement that it gives to anyone who reads this book. This should be a must read in the grades schools too.

P.O.

The words “no” and ‘you can’t” is told to children that it becomes imbedded in their memory, their, vocabulary, and their speech so much they believe they shouldn’t try or can’t do something. This story shows and teaches confidence and assurance to try is not a fail, it permits children the ability to learn they can do whatever they set their minds to, to try to accomplish. It’s a powerful message to motivate children and adults. It’s speaks and foster positivity in oneself instead of creating doubt and fear which is something children carry all of their lives. Let’s motivate and encourage positivity in our children and let that be what they speak all of their lives.

Mary J. Blige did a good job narrating.
