In this fourth and final installment of the Detective Ace Sloan series, Sloan must solve the murders of multiple members of a prominent Martian family and a distinguished poet all while cultivating a relationship with a new lover and dealing with a sudden serious health issue.

More than ever, he must lean on Detective Kate Hammer to assist him in solving the crimes. Like the other Sloan mysteries (The Red Planet Murders, The Red Planet President, and Mars at Midnight), this book brims with intrigue and suspense set against the Martian landscape in the 22nd century.

First, I have to start off by stating that I got this book free of charge in exchange for a review, but as I always state, this does not in any way impact my review. My reviews are always honest and my own.

I’ve really enjoyed all four books in the series, and this was no different. Yes, I felt like it was missing something, but overall this was good for the short story that it is. Graham knows how to write very tight and precise short stories that are full of detail and actually have a story arc.

William Graham does it again!

I always say that I love a mystery that is a mystery and this story delivers on that front. As I've come to expect from William Graham this story is beautifully crafted and sucked me in. I've become attached to the characters and love getting another glimpse into their life.

If you liked the other books in this series then you'll like this one too.

Once again the narration is an excellent match for the book, the character voices are consistent from book to book and the delivery enhances an already excellent book.

This book was supplied free by the author/narrator/publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

This is the sixth book I’ve read/listened to by this author (all in the same series) and I’m enjoying all the books in this world. Each one has had a story thread, common characters and a conclusion. They can be listened to out of order without many issues.

This is the first book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Adam Schulmerich ) and I would listen to another. He has good cadence and diction. His female voices are well done.

There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence or swearing.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this unbiased review.
