Publisher's Summary

In Mars and Venus on a Date, John Gray blasts off into the exciting new territory of the singles universe, turning his unique expertise to unattached men and women who desire lasting intimacy.

Mars and Venus on a Date is for all those single people who are looking for love, including the newly separated or divorced daunted by the singles scene. With the compassion and understanding that John Gray brings to all of his work, he takes us through the five stages of dating: Attraction, Uncertainty, Exclusivity, Intimacy, and Engagement. Listeners will find creative ideas on how to find their soulmates and thoughts on how to create a loving and mutually fulfilling relationship.

The singles universe can be a frightening place, and the men and women alone in this void have great need for the practical, proven wisdom of John Gray. In the same way that Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus became the ultimate relationship aid for couples, Mars and Venus on a Date is the essential singles' guide.

Love it!

This book has been extremely helpful. I have recommended it to a few friends and have listened to it three times (wont stop there). Women always want to know the "why?" This book explains a lot. I own the soft cover, but found it more useful as an audible!

What did you love best about Mars and Venus on a Date?

i saw some one say it is feministic. uhm NO! its not. there are a lot of women who want to wear the pants and balls in the relationship. i am not one of them. i want my man to be the man and me be the woman. this book is incredible. it depicts how our mentalities work. and this book definitely helped me save my relationship with my soulmate. we have grown closer than ever before. i highly recommend this book.

Already helping me

I've listened to this twice the first day! And it already is making a difference in the way I view things and how I react. Even though I'm not always the typical male in the stories I still find value. I'm actually going through a situation I thought I was doing things right but this explained away the questions I had about her reactions. I've switched it up and already the relationship is heading back in a positive direction.

Absolute trash

I listened to this audiobook because a woman i was interested in reccomended it to me. But upon listening to it I found lots of problems.

First, much of the book was just empty fluff or repeating things he said before.

Second, I'm a man and when he mentions how men are supposed to feel, half the time I don't feel that way. When he mentions how women are supposed to feel, half the time I do feel that way.

The advice that he gives women is horrible, such as telling women to distance herself from the man, or not reciprocate affection for the things that the man does for her. If a woman does that to me, i would lose interest.

He also says that primarily men need to be the givers and women need to be the receivers in a relationship, rather than saying that maybe they should try and give and take to each other equally as much as possible, this view of his reoccurs several times in the book, telling men to give and women to take and ask for more. Which is horrible advice. Men will feel used if they are in a relationship like this. All healthy relationships require give and take by both parties.

The author dedicates half of one chapter to "what if a man doesn't call" and says that if a man doesn't call, that doesn't necessarily mean he's not interested... which is ridiculous. I as a man, have always called or communicated with a woman in some way if i am still interested after a date.

In conclusion... I am wondering how many relationships this author has messed up, because people took his advice to heart. Do not get this book. You could get a better education about dating on youtube by searching for "sexual marketplace value", and by understanding the basics of every successful relationship, which is trust and communication, and sharing important values. Also i would advise both men and women to never expect more from a partner than what they have to offer. This paragraph alone is better advice than you'll find in this whole book.

Read it!

It’s not going to prevent all of the ups and downs inherent in any relationship, but it can help understand the other sex which is worth the 3 hours of listening time.
