Publisher's Summary

To hate and to scold....

Derek Chambers, Marquess of Whitlock, has a problem: his wife. She is the single most horrifying aspect of his life, and the only thing he has ever enjoyed about her are their truly spectacular fights. As such, he prefers having as little to do with her as possible. So when she unexpectedly summons him to London, he surprises himself by going, and finds his life turned upside down in ways he never thought possible.

To loathe and to perish....

Katherine despises her worthless and irritating husband, and nothing bothers her more than the fact that he actually came to London when she sent for him. Worst of all, now that he has come, she needs him to stay. With her. And with his every smile making her heart race, she begins to wonder if there could be more to him than meets the eye.

Love grows slowly

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes - I would recommend it with the caveat that no men of rank who lived in the time of this story would ever have indulged in - or lowered themselves to - physical labor. I do not see how this anachronistic detail was essential to the story but perhaps the author wanted the hero to be able to show off his physique through a sweat-soaked shirt.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The two protagonists played off each other very well. Moira, from the first in the Arrangements series, played a catalyst role in getting them to see one another in a different light

Which scene was your favorite?

Two were very affecting: When Derek watched and listen to Kate play the pianoforte and the picnic where the two of them gazed at the clouds and the sky.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Their last, ferocious fight and its aftermath of regret and sorrow in Derek and Kate.

Good<br />

Good narration.
good story.
Gets a bit intense towards the end.
I felt that the couple showed too much immaturity in handling their affairs

Delightful!

This whole series is remarkably delightful and masterfully narrated. Unfortunately Audible doesn't offer all six books. Guess I'll have to get the rest in paperback from Amazon.

Sweet romance

Very sweet book with satisfying ending. I only rated it 4 stars however because the first half was a bit over the top in selling the hero's distaste for his wife. It just went on to the point where I as the reader began to not like him. Also side note I felt lile this book ruined the first book for me... as nice as it was following the main characters from the first (AMAZING) book into this one, the writer and narrator seemed to change these 2 characters which sullied the romance of the first book for me.

Thoroughly Enjoyed...but

I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this novel. but I do wish the author would not have thrown in the 3 bad words which could very easily have been left out without changing anything about the characters or the story. It was otherwise morally clean.

I liked it. A unique story line not so full of unrequited sexual longings.

Nice to be spared the continual description of male arousal and “want you” ‘s page after pages. But truly how can the characters for chapters and chapters be so dense and missing the perception gene.

Well written clean and sweet romance

This is the second book of the series and as the first book was entertaining, this one is as well. I laughed out loud several times throughout the book. I enjoyed the reader and will seek out additional narrations of hers and the author’s in future.
