Publisher's summary

Marriage is so much more than a human institution. The Bible teaches that marriage was created by God and reveals an eternal mystery - the mystery of the Gospel. In this way marriage paints a picture of our salvation in and through Jesus Christ.

In the second volume in the Short Studies in Biblical Theology series, Pastor Ray Ortlund traces the Bible's teaching on marriage from Genesis to Revelation - revealing how marriage stands at the center of God's redemptive purposes for the world. Helping us grasp a cosmic vision of this oft-misunderstood institution, this volume honors and exalts marriage as a grand display of the Gospel, offering guidance and hope for our own marriages today.

Great book about marriage

If you could sum up Marriage and the Mystery of the Gospel in three words, what would they be?

A must read

What other book might you compare Marriage and the Mystery of the Gospel to and why?

I might compare to the Sacred Marriage: What If God Designed Marriage to Make Us Holy More Than to Make Us Happy? Personally, I think you must read them both because both of them are very important book about marriage.

Have you listened to any of Al Kessel’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first time I've listened to Al Kessel’s performance. I am really impressed with his performance. The book is already interesting to listening too but his narration make it even better.

Any additional comments?

Falling in love is easy, staying in love is another matter. This book provides the purpose for the life long commitment on marriage that based on biblical truth. I recommend this book to every Christian because it will deepen your understanding about marriage. This book is perfect if you're looking for a guide to help lead you to a better marriage that God wants you to have.

Brief but solid

This brief overview is one of the best treatments of marriage in the whole Bible I have come across - well worth it!
