This Story Is Sexy

Publisher's Summary

This book is an erotic gay romance. It contains explicit language and lots of steamy sex between two hot guys. For listeners 18+ only.

Blake Davis is in the closet. And he's going to stay that way. Because if his father finds out he's gay, Blake could lose everything he's worked so hard to achieve during the last six years as CEO of Trinity Publishing, the fastest rising star in the publishing firmament. Not that coming out wouldn't solve a couple of problems. Maybe then his father would stop trying to set him up with yet another empty-headed, social-climbing girlfriend. And better still, Blake could stop using that escort agency when he wants a night of hot sex with a cute guy.

Will Parkinson has had a tough life so far, but he's back on his feet. Okay, so he's working as an escort - with benefits - to pay off his student loans, but that does have its advantages, such as the really hot guy who hired him. Yeah, Blake rocked his world last night - several times. So imagine how Will feels when he arrives to be interviewed for his dream job as PA in a publishing company, and the guy who's hiring is...Blake.

And then things get really complicated.

Great Story!

Really enjoyable story (though I would have tossed that secretary out on her butt so fast, I can't believe how compassionate they all were).

Great MCs - they were both truly interesting and when they got together, heck yes! The Epilogue is super sweet too.

I'm going to say... I did the audio version of this book and the narrator was terrific with his accents. Between the Australian guy and the women and all the different British accents, he was great. His sex voice however - just *ugh* horrible!

Cornell Collins is Excellent! Very sweet story!

This was one of the first books I read in m/m romance. I loved it! It’s a Cinderella/Pretty Woman story and it’s got elements of a rags to riches story like Annie, as well.
I loved that Blake, while closeted, is totally accepting of Will’s/Alex’s profession. Once they become a permanent thing, of course, he won’t share (don’t worry!) but before he can claim that right, he doesn’t try to make Will feel bad for supporting himself.

There are a LOT of things the reader has to accept as “happy coincidence” – the book being a hit, Will being his assistant, everyone at work being cool with “the gay thing”. But, beyond those issues, it’s a really sweet and very sensual story.

Something I love in romances – a couple who switches! And an alpha male who likes to be tied up!

This was a very sweet and wonderful story with many layers of happy in it’s HEA.

Audio

Cornell Collins does a FANTASTIC job with this. He gave Will the deeper voice – which I didn’t picture in my head – but it totally worked. His British accent gives this that extra level of authenticity that you don’t get when you’re not from there. His pacing and emotions are excellent and overall this was a great way to experience this story.

Awesomeness!

I chose this audible because it was narrated by my favorite narrator. There are other narrators that I enjoy but Cornell Collins is my absolute favorite. This story was so very Good. It was romantic, sexy, erotic and truly entertaining. Thank You K. C. for sharing your imagination with us and for choosing Cornell Collins to narrate it.

The narrator was horrid during the sex scenes!

I don't know why the narrator chose the inflection or tone or whatever he chose during the steamy sex scenes, but it almost ruined the entire book for me. Plus, I really hope that's not his real sex voice, because......

Awful narration choice and too much sex.

Perhaps it’s what women imagine gay men to be like, but I find these gay romances written by women to be very sex heavy reads with little substance between. I found myself rolling my eyes at the cheesy banter between characters, and the awkward dirty talk said aloud in the authors grandfatherly voice. The narration choice was awful. The narrator sounded like he should be narrating Winnie the Pooh instead of gay romance. I’ll never look at Pooh the same again.

Hot 🔥and sweet

Holy mackerel Batman, this is a hot and steamy read. Yep, Making It Personal got me all hot and bother while immersing me in gooey sweetness.

Making It Personal is a low angst romance with a satisfying HEA epilogue.

Cornell Collins narration is passionate and spot on. His voice is utterly delicious.

very good narrator, heartfelt and HOT story

I'm new to audio books, and was fortunate enough to get my introduction via this narrator (different book). I then tried another book by a different narrator and realized how lucky I'd truly gotten.

Smoothly read text, good inflection, great voice. Good differentiation in characters, though the females did make me giggle.

The book itself is sweet and romantic with hot, steamy scenes and the HEA I need and love.

Good job.

Great story, but distracting narrator.

I enjoyed the overall plot and narration of the story, but his narration of dialogue during the love scenes was way overdone and took away from otherwise good scenes.

pretty good

The narrator was pretty good except during the sex scenes, when he used a creepy voice that was very unsexy. Other than that, and when he did the voice for the "bad guy" woman, he was a good narrator with a soothing British voice. He differentiates the voices of the men very well.
The story was fine and fairly realistic.
The rich MC, Blake, was kind of wimpy and lame initially when he was blackmailed and i didn't like the way he was going to put his career before his love before he found out he didn't have to make the choice after all.
However, all's well that ends well and the happy ending was pretty satisfying.
i liked the progression of the relationship between the two mc's pretty well, and the sexy scenes are pretty nice ( if you can tune out the weird voice).
overall, it is a decent mm romance and a good time filler, especially as part of the romance package.

Fabulous romance with hot sex, strong men and HEA

I absolutely loved this book! The men, Blake and Will, meet up in an unorthodox fashion, but its lust at first sight, and before long love, of course!

The story has everything: tough beginnings, a superb villain, restored relationships, a wonderful cast of supporting characters, spicy sex, misunderstandings, a proposal, the happy ever after we yearn for in romance-landia, and plenty more besides.

The narration is super, with excellent characterisation and emotive interpretation.

The story is engaging from the outset, I adored both main characters and was rooting for them from the get-go. I read/listen to lots of books. Lots. And it was refreshing to enjoy an English book, set in London, narrated well and so relatable, I felt like it was so real I could have been there.

I was given a free copy of this audio book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
