War has come to the Rune Realm. The Goddess Mother has returned, but there is nothing divine about her.

Nate has survived everything thrown his way: powerful professors, deadly trolls in the Forest of Dreams, and the cutthroat chaos of the Questing Games. Each time, he’s defied the odds, finding a way to triumph.

But this is different. This is war.

With Grishna missing, and dozens of other runics vanishing without a trace, Nate and his companions set out to uncover the truth. Their journey will lead them across the Realm, into the arms of unlikely allies, the jaws of buried secrets, and face-to-face with a power unlike any they’ve encountered before.

Classes are over. The Games are done.

The real fight has just begun.

it was a great end to an amazing series, and each character made the story.

An amazing end to the series

ok, a petulant child with adhd gets op powers, then noses into everyones grown up business, then crys when he gets smacked for it. Every situation is a 3 hour monologe that leads nowhere. Way over drama, everyone is suicidal and plays it off as self sacrifice. 'Oh everyone is dying all around, lets have tea and a lengthy discusion!' (outside of the inherited spell). Author and Va are awesome but I couldnt handle the run on over drama of this last book. had to fight to finish. Great serise overall though.

holy monolog batman

The positive aspect is that this series is complete with a satisfactory conclusion. However, unlike the other 3 books, this was a more difficult experience to get through. The shift in tones from tragedy to nonsensical humor threw me out of the immersion of the story. In addition to extended mansplaining, extended death soliloque(s), and over abundant evil villain monologing... the extended penultimate battle fell flat. For the lovers of the genre, please give it a try. You may come to a different conclusion.

Story I wanted to love, but fell flat at the end.

Easily the worst entry in the series. Threet did a good job with the material but holy moly was this just a bunch or rambling nonsense. you could easily skip the entire middle 3rd and miss nothing aside from info dumps followed by the MC asking "wait, so I am hearing this correctly?" Only to have what we just heard repeated again. Over and over. The whole series is clearly a Harry Potter fan fic, but you could really feel it here.

great preformance but the book was a rambling mess.
