Paranormal adult stories without 90% sex scenes

So if u like Your books to be about 20pages long if you exclude the sexscenes this book is not for u. I started listening to this series since i really liked the authors "hidden" series. And this first book is promising, so i Will continue on to the sequal. The Universe created is great, but if u like Everything explaned in details from the start, it May be confusing since the story does explain some things but otherwise kind of just take the things for granted. The narrator is good.

Decent For a First Novel

The world itself was interesting and engaging but the characters were a little rough around the edges. The main character especially seemed to randomly shift between very polite to confusingly confrontational. Still, it was a fun listen.

This was the authors' (a husband-wife duo) first novel so I might be willing to give the next book a chance to see if the writing improves.

I love this book! Bono was an interesting character. And the villain!

I really love Kate Daniels. When she thought Olathe wasn't the villain, I believed her. But Curran thought she was full of shit. Well, she showed him that it wasn't over!

There was a zombie dragon in the final battle! And Kate killed Bono!

Renée Raudman did a fantastic job performing this story! I thoroughly enjoyed her narration.

Kate Danels Rules!

I have read the Kate Daniels series so many times, I've lost count. That's how much I love the series. Now, I'm listening to them. Renee Raudman does a great job at conveying Kate's attitude and emotions. However, meaning no disrespect, she'll never be able to embody Curran the way she does Kate. That's the only reason I'm giving her performance 4 stars.

strong Fmc and fun banter

I love Kate Daniels! she's my hero. I'm now moving on to book 2! plus digging into the side stories for this series

Power Through This One

I don't usually write reviews, but felt the need to let readers know the Kate Daniels series is excellent. This first book is a bit rough, but I promise if you power through it you won't be sorry. Book 2 is much improved and the story just gets better. Enjoy!

The story is absolutely awesome....but

I will admit that I'm a biased listener for this series. I live in Atlanta and I'm the unicorn: A Native. I was so impressed that the Gordons (Ilona Andrews) were very accurate in their descriptions of the city and the surrounds. They either researched like crazy, lived here or got info from a long time resident. It's a great urban fantasy series. Well structured, entertaining and emotionally satisfying. However...the audio book isn't doing it for me- primarily because the delivery and the voices done by Ms Raudman are just not....right. Almost every Southerner voiced by Ms. Raudman sounds like something out of a bad 1950's movie idea of a fake Southern accent and it becomes a bit insulting after a while.. Has she ever spoken with someone from Georgia?? I mean seriously - as mentioned, I was raised around these people and NO ONE sounds like these people she is voicing - not even out in the country. Also - someone needs to get with her on the local pronunciations. "Ponce De Leon Ave" is not pronounced by the locals like it would be in proper Spanish. Down here it's "Ponce-Deee-Leee-an". And if you try to say it like the Spanish, most locals will snicker at you or give you a blank stare for a few seconds while they try to process what you mean. There are a couple of additional examples that I won't bore you with - but it's jarring and more than a little annoying when you know that it could have been done right. Ms. Raudman is a talented reader - don't get me wrong - but for this one - she just isn't a good fit.

Great First Book

A fun intro to Kate and Curran. Lots of action read by a very good voice.

Great story but narrator made some mistakes

I enjoyed the narrator's voice but she made some really glaring mistakes that took me out of the story in some parts. good thing I already read this on paperback otherwise, I wouldn't have continued.
