Publisher's Summary

I didn't choose this path. No one would.

I played the cards I was dealt.

This life made me. This city made me.

I won't apologize for who I've become.

Moses wouldn't have me any other way.

He says he wants forever, and I'm starting to believe him.

But I can't outrun my past, and my sins are catching up with me.

If it's time to atone, I'll gladly pay my penance.

We might be getting our second chance, but we have to make it out alive first.

Great ending to the duet

We get more with Mount and Kiera, as the story of Moses and Magnolia ramps up for a big finish. There is a lot of danger and mystery throughout this book.
Joe Arden and Erin Mallon's narration is off the hook fantastic with their NOLA accents.
You can't go wrong with these narrators in this story.

Worth a listen to but...

Let’s be honest, this duet should have been 1 book. However, it was still really good. The whole world Meghan describes in NOLA is vivid and amazing. You also love to hate Moses if you listened to the previous series Legend, which I highly recommend if you have not. The way Moses is described in that series you would have no idea he was in his early 40’s and gorgeous. I pictured him as an older guy who has lived a rough life. I loved the whole duet, but the ending was very rushed in my opinion. The 9+ hours leads into and ending that is only the last 20 minutes, which was disappointing. I hope Meghan takes Rhodes and makes that her next book, I would love to hear more about him!

It felt a bit of "more of the same"

Storyline wise it had all the ingredients of what makes a Meghan March story so good. Great characters, setting and plotting. I think my issue with this story was that the stakes felt forced and I didn't find myself so interested in the who or why of the issues. It just felt I was re listening to the previous series. What made this audio so engaging and what made me keep listening was the narration. Joe Arden and Erin Mallon delivered such great performances that I couldn't stop. I may not have been "all-in" on these characters or story but the narration made it feel that I needed to finish.

I DEVOURED EVERY DELICIOUS DROP

Of course it was good.. well it was great actually, and the dual POV plot had me gripped from the moment I hit play. Of course the characters were all colorful preloved badasses from book 1 who were filled with dreams, desires, hopes and fears. Of course the intrigue, suspense, mystery and action flowed wonderfully well as its well-balanced chapters came and went. Of course the devoted romance between Moses and Magnolia had heat, heart and swoonworthy feels. And that’s because this book’s been written by an outstanding author, a Madam Temptress herself, who really knows her audience well and delivers exactly what they want every.. single.. glorious.. time.

Worth a credit? With the story being brought to life by two fantastic talented A list narrators, it’s definitely a yes.. in fact, it’s a yes more of the same please ;)

Joe Arden & Erin Mallon made this story!!

I know I said this in my review of book one in this duet Creole Kingpin but I just have to say it again because it is worth mentioning. Joe Arden & Erin Mallon did an incredible job at narration for this duet. I was so consumed by their voices that if they do the narration in the other books of this world then I will be listening to those as well. I can't imagine anyone doing Moby or Magnolia but them. The accents were just *chefs kiss* and this might be a be a me thing, but I've never listened to an audio book where the Louisiana accent was so pronounced.

Now, onto the story...

I can't believe I waited so long to get the conclusion, but it was well worth it. Magnolia is one of my favorite heroine's that I have ever read. The moment she held a shotgun on Moby in Creole Kingpin while bleeding from a stab wound was the moment, I fell in love with her.

Then Moby, that sweet and delicious man. His only goal through this duet was getting back the woman he fell in love with all those years ago. Meghan March really sold the story of how love doesn't have to grow for a certain length of time sometimes it just happens, and it can be just as powerful.

I truly did love this duet, and I am looking forward to heading back to Louisiana soon to see what the King of Louisiana is up to.

Madame No holds barred

I have listened to so many books by Meghan March, with the first being Holly Wix, which I found by accident and then became hooked. I listened to the entire Beneath series before moving into Mount and Kiera's story. Magnolia is my favorite heroine of all. She is no holds barred and fierce. I know others complained on narration, but honestly this narrator was perfect for her. The only complaint I have on this story is one I can't say to give away any spoilers, but there was a certain character of whom I love and wanted them to have their own spinoff story, and now I'm thinking they won't.

INTERESTING

The magnolia duet was very good and full of action and love. I was upset that it wasn't a series but it ended the way it should have.

Excellent Book Duet

Truly enjoyed Magnolia & Moses’ story. This second book is very intense but riveting and thrilling as well. Excellent read. Loved having Lochland & Kyra be such an integrated part of the story too. Meghan March has done it again.

Action & shocks

This was epic from the beginning to the end. It was a great ending for Magnolia and Moses’s story. It did wrapped up a little too quickly, though...sad to say, I wanted to know more the ins and outs of Reyes’s mind. However, it might be pretty overbearing if author did that! Ha! This story keep you on the edge and what a audiobook narrating performance! Joe Arden and Erin Mallon did such a great job. I couldn’t put the book down, I wanted to know what will happen next...I want to listen/read more!!! Don’t want to say much but a new author to me, & great writing skills! You want a story full of surprises, thrills, and a whole lot of suspense, give this a shot.

AWESOME!!

Let me start this review by saying how incredibly awesome the narration was. Joe Arden as Moses and Erin Mallon as Magnolia was like a match made in heaven. As for the story and the characters in this book I couldn't have loved them anymore. Their was great chemistry and an awesome banter between Moses and Mags that I couldn't get enough of. On a side note MOUNT's reappearance was great to see and his involvement in that ending was phenomenal!!

And sheeeees's back!!!!!

oh boy what a ride. legends trilogy didn't cut the same set of teeth as the beneath series along with the mount trilogy..but this is good...Wraps up in a neat package
which is par for the course but also because magnolia has played an integral part in the mount series so it was great to get her story,
i said it in magnolia duet book 1...dare we get a story on Rhodes????
Erin and Joe are freaking awesome! their slight southern accent is perfect and is what brings Meghan's characters to life. love love love your stories Meghan. read them all and waiting for new ones!!!!
