Yet another excellent book from J.A. Jance

As a Norwegian myself it was interesting following J.P. Beaumont into the Norwegian community. His observations on "Akevitt" is something I belive most foreigners and alot of Norwegians can relate to! As before, Gene Engene IS Beaumont. It should be considered an ID-theft and a fellony to have anyone else do the part. I'm slowly running out of Beaumont/Engene/unabridged books. I see a difficult withdrawal process coming my way!

Narrator Gene Engene

I absolutely love this narrator. He brings all these books to life. Well done! Great!

I could have skipped this one.

What did you like best about Lying in Wait? What did you like least?

I enjoy all the JP Beaumont books, but this one's story line was weak and forced.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The female "created" at the very end was just worthless - didn't add a thing and actually took away form it.

What three words best describe Gene Engene’s performance?

Avoid Norwegian accents.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Absolutely not.

Any additional comments?

One of the best!

I have read or listened to several of the books in the J.P.Beaumont series. This is definitely one of the best! The book keeps your attention throughout.
It has a rather unique plot. I highly recommend it.

J A Jance never Disappoints

I love the way that she gives such minute detail to all her characters. I actually feel like I know every person that she writes about. Her metaphors, similes and alliteration are so enlightening. I feel like I'm right there in her story.

Good Story

I enjoy Mr. Engene's voice and style. He lends his voice to a detective I've "known" for years in an interesting, talented, and skilled manner.
Ms. Jance continues to create suspenseful, well-paced stories in which her self-aware characters find themselves challenged both personally and professionally.

Lying In Wait

As usual, JA Jance has given us another enjoyable, easy read. The narrator would do well to research the speech inflections of the character's setting. A decidedly Southwest intonation coming from a native resident of the Pacific Northwest is annoying and unbelievable.

Lying in Wait

I apologize, I must have been blind in one eye and couldn't see thru the other one. Gene Engene hasn't narrated all of her books. I will try another, am looking forward to a good listen.
