Beautiful emotional novel

I resonated most with how hard itvis to get the voices of family members out of your head.

Thorny Story

I enjoyed the story and how their lives, were so in twined together, it made for a very rocky story of highs and lows. I would love to know what happened to Donovan.

Great story

the story was very full. There were a lot of characters and there was so much detail give it to the characters you really felt like you knew them. The ending I thought was too abrupt I wish there was a little bit more closure.

Horrible Narrator

Wonderful book, but the narrator is awful. She swallows loudly, smacks her teeth. Disgusting . Very annoying when listening with earphones. Had to return the book. AWFUL.

Good Read / Horrible Ending

The ending was horrible, it left the reader hanging unless there is going to be a part II

Okay

It was okay. I am not fond on the way it ended. I guess I was looking for a happy ending for Campbell.

Left me with my mouth hanging open

I loved how Bernice weaved the characters together as well as how she touched on the real things, the human things that we have all been, experienced or know someone who is or has. The use of imagery is perfection!

An okay story

The story was very descriptive but slow and somewhat boring. It left much to be desired. The graphic nature of the sexual abuse was hard to listen to although necessary. A good story but by far not my favorite.

Joy and sorrow share the same cup.

Gibran said the same cup that holds your joy also holds your sorrow. This is a story of hope and hopelessness. One of the saddest books I’ve ever heard or read. Will read more of her work. Marvelous performance.
