What does it mean to build a marriage and family that truly reflects the glory of God?

In Loving Communion: Life on the Road to Glory, Randy Booth—a Reformed pastor with more than forty years of experience in premarital and marital counseling—offers a biblical and practical vision for the Christian covenant household.

At the heart of the book is a simple but profound truth: all of life flows from the eternal loving communion of the triune God. Our marriages and families are meant to reflect that communion. Sin brought alienation, separation, and death, but the gospel begins the great work of restoration—reconciling us to God and teaching us to live in loving communion with one another.

That restoration places us on the Road to Glory. And every road needs guardrails.

Drawing from Scripture and decades of pastoral experience, Booth identifies biblical truths, habits, and practices that help husbands, wives, and families remain faithful along the way. With particular attention to marriage, communication, conflict, forgiveness, worship, hospitality, and the ordinary rhythms of covenant life, Loving Communion connects rich Reformed theology with the practical realities of life together.

This is not simply a book about having a better marriage or a happier home. It is about something greater: building a household shaped by the gospel, reflecting the loving communion of the triune God, and traveling faithfully together on the Road to Glory.

I have been an “unofficial,” long distance member of Pastor Randy Booth’s congregation for a very long time. I have been convicted by his preaching, instructed by his teaching, and encouraged and guided by his invaluable pastoral counsel. As you read this book, you will see why I’m thankful for his ministry. Pay careful attention. You hold in your hands the fruit of over 40 years of faithful, ministry, careful study, and life-experience. Invaluable wisdom for the unmarried, the engaged, the newly married, and those who have been married for many years. You will not regret the time you spend within these pages. —Pastor Steve Wilkins, Church of the Redeemer, West Monroe, LA

Pastor Randy Booth has been a faithful pastor to me in times of turmoil and a trusted companion in the CREC. His counsel reflects the wisdom found in these pages: biblical, seasoned, courageous, and deeply pastoral. My affection for Randy is rooted not merely in what he teaches, but in the steadfast love with which he shepherds Christ’s people. His heart for the sacredness of marriage permeates every page of this labor of love. I commend this book—and its author—with gratitude and joy. —Rev. Dr. Uriesou Brito, Providence Church, Pensacola, FL

Having walked together pastorally for over thirty years and having benefited from Pastor Booth's wise counsel the entire time, here is a portion of the wise and joyful fruit of his pastoral service. You will encounter his love for the saints. In these pages you are invited into the living room of this pastor. Lean in and listen to the conversation of this mature shepherd as he speaks of the glorious display of marriage, the wondrous mystery of Christ and the Church. Whether you are just now considering marriage or have been maturing in it for years, you will find words of encouragement and guidance for the glorious path ahead. —Pastor J. Niell, Christ Covenant Presbyterian Church, Granbury, TX

I saw this last night and downloaded it to listen to on my trip today. I listened to the whole thing. I had the privilege to meet Mr Booth on a few occasions and have been edified by his other books. In this book you can feel his vast experience in counseling coming through the pages.
I appreciated the depth of the interconnectivity of various parts of the Christian walk that he was able to pull together and interplay in a short book.
In a world of listicles it was refreshing to have a more integrated view.
