Publisher's Summary

The last time Brody Clark left the Rivers, she walked away from her life - her foolish dreams, her few friends, and the secrets she'd kept from everyone. For 10 years she'd told herself there was nothing in her past she cared about - not the family who'd given her a home or the one girl she never stopped thinking about. But now she’s back as part of the new medevac flight crew, for at least as long as it takes to finally bury her ghosts.

Val Valentine, DVM, planned on a big city boutique vet practice with high profile clients, easy hours, and lucrative profits. All until the man who was more father to her than her own asks for her help, and she ends up back in the backwater where all she has are bad memories.

Brody figures cutting her ties to the past would be a hell of a lot easier if she could only avoid the woman she’s never been able to forget. Since Val never even knew she was alive back in high school, that shouldn’t be too hard now. When their lives collide, both women discover what might have been is closer than they think.

Could have been so much better

I was so very frustrated. McKinney is so stilted and careful in her reading that she loses the feeling of the moment. Very flat.

Not Radcliffe’s Best

Weak story to the series. Kind of left hanging.
Please stop using Paige McKinney as the narrator. Terrible. Seriously, stop. I’d rather my Mom narrate the book, sex and all.
Story was.....meh. If there is a part 2, this is a good set up.

Long overdue

Well, I have been waiting for a new book written by Radclyffe for a long time. I love her writing, the way she develops a story and the characters, and she didn’t disappoint me with another great book. I hope I will net have to wait so long. It was great to get reacquainted with the Rivers family and hear some more about some of the people in this family.
Paige McKinney was great as usual.

What the?

Loved the family coming back together. Felt the shame and hurt from Brody, ‘cause she tried to make things right. I really hoped to find out who was trashing her surroundings, that answer should be forthcoming in the next book?
