Helpful. Glad I bought it. Some reservations.

Overall I'm glad I bought this book. My wife and I have a great marriage and almost never fight or get into tiffs, so I was reluctant to buy because most marriage books are slanted toward those considering divorce.

Overall I felt this was true from a male perspective and it was very refreshing to read a marriage book that didn't make all guys out to be horrible sinning savage beasts.

However, there were two things I think could be improved.

First, I think it maybe went a bit too far in the way it explained how the woman should respect the man's decisions for the family. My wife felt afraid to even voice her opinion anymore until I told her to just stop being so respectful and be herself like she usually is. She is always very good to me so I think this book made her feel like she wasn't doing a good job and needed to change something.

Second, I wish there were far more specific ideas of things I could do to show love for my wife. I get the concept and I tell my wife I love her all the time. Just wish there were lots of creative ideas in this book to get me thinking.

Lightbulb moment here folks!

Biblical truth spoken here, with the eye-opening revelation of why it's so hard for the love & respect relationship to simply "happen". Anything good takes time and energy -- but is worth it all. This book is must-read for any relationship!

Every couple that confesses Jeasus Is Lord should read this life changing book. 5 stars is not enough Emerson did an awesome job narating I laughed and cried and choose to show my husband Umconditional Respect... Not your typical "communication" book.

I think he hits the proverbial nail on the head with his assessment of respect toward the husband. Finally, I have the ability to express what I'm feeling when thing go awry. I would get this one now.

The Greatest Marriage Lesson I've Experienced

I have tried many things to enrich my marriage. Never before have I heard a message like Love and Respect before. I must tell you IT WORKS. I have applied the lessons within the book and there has been an immediate response from my wife. I am overjoyed by it. You can read this book over and over and find that your enriched each time. I am thankful to God for the spirit and fulfillment this book brings.

Needs to be heard by all couples.

This is the missing piece of the puzzle. It is the part of the message that is left out or avoided.
We need to open our ears and listen and apply before it is almost too late.

Solidly biblical; immediately practical

Eggrichs takes a clear biblical principle (husbands are commanded to love unconditionally; wives are commanded to respect unconditionally) and drags it into the light of day. There are just some things in the Bible that, though they're as plain as the nose on your face, are basically overlooked by whole--or sometimes multiple--generations. The equality and importance of these matched principles is one of those things, and Eggrichs' clear explanation of the principle coupled with his astoundingly practical and down-to-earth applications make this book foundational for any marriage that wants to succeed and glorify God.
