Publisher's Summary

Socially awkward, 36-year-old virgin, Simon Kadish, knows he wants more from life than a failing bakery and an empty apartment. He just doesn’t know how to get it.

From an early age, Simon’s life has been marked by loss. After the death of his father, Simon and his infant brother are ripped from their home in Tel Aviv and forced to settle in a small mountain town in the US where no one speaks his language. By the age of 12, Simon is an orphan. By the age of 21, Simon finds himself the unwilling owner of his bubbe’s bakery, and the hesitant guardian of his little brother. Terrified of losing what little he has left, Simon dedicates himself to his faith, sacrificing everything to keep the fragile scraps of his broken family.

But, when Simon’s favorite film star’s life suddenly falls apart on social media, Simon makes a choice. He goes against every one of his instincts and fires up his camera, sending a message in rusty ASL. He doesn’t expect anything from it, of course. After all, Simon’s life has been anything but charmed.

Deaf film star Rocco Moretti had anyone's fantasy life, and he wouldn’t change it for the world.

But when Rocco wakes up to his boyfriend leaving, he has nowhere to turn. Rocco realizes in that moment, he wants something more. He’s not sure where to find it, but he thinks maybe the shy video in shaky ASL in his DMs is a good place to start. After all, Cherry Creek is in the middle of nowhere, and since seeing that video, Rocco hasn’t been able to stop thinking about that shy baker’s long fingers, shy smile, and the constellation of freckles on his pale cheeks.

Rocco isn’t sure leaving his life behind is the right choice, and Simon isn’t sure he belongs in Rocco’s world. But the one thing they do know is that this love has a chance to set them both free.

One of my favorites

I think this is one of my favorites for the year. It's hurt/comfort, low angst, great sexy times between a Deaf porn star and Jewish virgin. I love how you learn something different about people and their culture that you don't really find in alot of books. The narration is ah-mazing. This is my first Nick Hudson but it will not be my last. I think he did a great job. I cannot wait for more books in this series.

Amazing

I absolutely LOVE EM Lindsey’s writing and this book is another wonderful example of her skill. Her characters are perfectly flawed, both real and fantastic. I love how she brings in physical disabilities and emotional problems in with her characters. It makes them feel more real! Nick Hudson did a fantastic job bringing this story and the characters to life! I can’t wait for more from both the narrator and the author!

So much more than a romance. I loved it!

Love Him Free MMy Thoughts and Review This is an emotionally driven, unconditionally loving, and life inspiring love story for anyone who has ever had to sacrifice their own aspirations and dreams on the altar of duty and honor so their family was protected and could have a better life without ever knowing the pain and suffering of the past. Simon is a 36-year-old baker, and Rocco is an adult film industry star. One uses ASL to communicate and the other has never been kissed. One just got dumped and their ex shared it with tens of thousands on social media and the other lacks the ability to communicate effectively, with those in his own town. The two are as different as night and day. However, it seems the stars have aligned to help these two souls, and the more time they spend in each other’s company the more communication barriers for each of them crumble. This story had me from the first few minutes of listening. I was so fascinated by Simon’s character and his relatable personality. Rocco too held me in sway because he was beguiling and even with a disability he could walk into a room and steal away the conversation from the speaker with just a glance. Even with all his special brand of je ne sais quoi, once Rocco meets reclusive Simon, no one else stands a chance. Oh, how I adored this grown-up romance that dealt with real grown-up issues in daily life. The characters were quite relatable and very likable… even the “unlikable” overprotective boyfriend of Simon’s younger brother. The only part of the story that did not hit home for me was the conflict. It took away from the more mature side of the romance and would have been better suited for a young adult romance. I was glad it was brief and not drawn out. Truly a delightful story about so much more than just romance. Love of family, love of community, and love of self. Truly exceptional. The Story: 4.50 🌟🌟🌟🌟. ✨ The Narration: 5.00 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Overall: 4.75 🌟🌟🌟🌟. ✨ I received a complimentary audio copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews to read and review. 🎄📚🎄

Great meeting is just the beginning

I knew I was going to love this book as soon as I read the author's take on the meeting of her two characters. It isn't exactly a meet cute, as one of them has just had a major Twitter incident, but the concern shown by Simon melted my heart right up front. These two have to get acquainted and work out some issues, but watching that happen is just magical. Nick Hudson was the perfect narrator for this story. He caught every emotion perfectly, from the caring to the prickliness to the heat. This is definitely going into my re-listen often pile.

Absolutely perfect

I loved everything about this book. Simon and Rocco were absolutely perfect and so full of love you could feel it. When I read this book when it came out, it was one of my favorites I had read all year, with Nick Hudson’s narration, it was somehow even better and I fell in love all over again.

Heartwarming

Love Him Free is book 1 in the On The Market series. This is another amazing story by one of my favorite authors. I love the complex stories E.M. Lindsey writes. They always get me thinking and this one was no exception. I loved Simon and Rocco together. I love how Simon had the courage to send Rocco an ASL message in the first place. I love their connection and watching their friendship turn into more. I love how protective and patient Rocco is of Simon. Hard decisions had to be made but it all worked out. I also love watching Simon and his brother grow closer. Definitely recommend. Narrator Nick Hudson does a marvelous job.

Great story

I really liked this story. I admit I love stories with imperfect characters who really get to find themselves. And there’s a baker, I mean, I’m all in when it comes to baking. I liked this story, it’s pace and I do like insta-love. It was hot and sweet. I really liked Nick Hudson’s narrating, he has such a nice voice and I liked that he changed voices for different characters. He was so enjoyable to listen to and his pace was very pleasant. I definitely recommend this book.

Love Him Free - low angst, high heart

Nick Hudon rocked this narration and made this book for me. Great story with deep connections. I'm iffy with hurt/comfort, but this one sat just right. Low angst and high heart factors. A good listen.

Wonderful story with great narration

This is such a sweet, at times heart wrenching story. I adore how Simon and Rocco meet and eventually come together. There is so much that Simon holds back from the rest of the world, enough that he suffers with anxiety and such low self esteem. He continually struggles to make and keep relationships, especially with his younger brother and keeping secrets definitely doesn't help with that. But when Rocco comes to town, Simon allows himself the time to just be in the other mans company, have some fun and provide comfort to each other. Rocco is in town escaping the bad show that his life has become now that his ex who is also his interpreter (Rocco is deaf) is now shacked up with his now ex agent. Of course with everything being on social media, there's not really anywhere to escape so the unexpected invitation from a quiet man that sent him a supportive message in ASL online sends him packing his bag and driving to Cherry Creek. I really enjoyed this story. Simon and Rocco's relationship is quite unique, as is what they do when they spend time alone together or at least it is for Simon. Rocco allows him to feel brave, attractive and seen where Simon gives Rocco the support, understanding and affection that he needs. It feels like a natural development for their relationship as we go through the story. There's a fair amount that unfolds for both men but then they are now also there for each other which is something that they didn't have before Simon was brave for two minutes and sent a video of support to his favourite porn star. There are a lot of characters who live about the small town that interact with both MC's, though it's often a struggle for Rocco as very few have thought to learn ASL before. Simon's relationship with his brother is filled with tension, a lot of it he's brought on himself but circumstances and people throughout his life have put it all on him and he's done the best that he can. Nick Hudson is a fabulous narrator. He really brings out the emotion of the story and the characters are shown off in the best light. I got pulled into the story from the first chapter and was entertained throughout the highs and lows that the MC's experience

Simon & Rocco

This was a new to me narrator, and while I own quite a few of this author’s books, this was my first E.M. Lindsey read. I enjoyed the narration and varied voices for each character. While the initial pace was a bit slow for me, it picked up as the story unfolded. I loved the connection between Simon and Rocco. Seeing their relationship develop as they each faced their own challenges was wonderful. While Simon and Rocco were different from each other, I loved how they just seemed to fit together. The first time sexy times were pretty steamy! This story really packed an emotional punch for me. While this stands alone, I know there are some intertwining books and storylines, so I’m eager to look into those as well!

Really sweet

This one I found to be really sweet, the characters connecting and finding how they work together. I also enjoyed the aspect of the MC and his brother sorting through some of their issues. I loved the heat level and the narration was fantastic. I will say though there were a few places where the story dragged just a touch but the overall story kept my attention Definitely a story that I would want to listen to again

Love is Freeing

Love Him Free is the first book in the On The Market series which takes place in the town of Cherry Creek. From what I’ve seen of from other reviewers, Cherry Creek is a location that was created by Kate Hawthorne and was the setting for one of her series. There seems to be a lot of crossovers between the series in regards to the characters. At first, I was a little apprehensive about that because I was worried I would not be able to follow along in the story, but that fear was unfounded. I could definitely tell that all the characters had history and stories of their own, but it did not make the Love Him Free book confusing. So, if like me, you haven’t read any other Cherry Creek books, don’t worry, you don’t need to for Love Him Free. I really liked this book. Simon was such a sweet and gentle character who was just trying to do his best. He knew he had made mistakes and he was open to learning and growing. I was really touched by how much he cared for his brother, Levi, and how quietly, yet fiercely, he loved Levi. The romance between Simon and Rocco was everything I want from a Hallmark romance—instant attraction, impulsive life decisions, and a beautiful, enduring love. Rocco is a gay porn star who happens to be deaf. I myself am not deaf, but I have worked with deaf coworkers, and I really appreciate how much attention to detail E.M. Lindsey put into her portrayal of Rocco and his experiences. I, of course, speak from a limited perspective, and I cannot comment on how accurate E.M. Lindsey ultimately was, but from my, once again limited, perspective, it matched my experiences working with my deaf colleagues (without the porn industry backdrop). Overall, the romance was wonderful and delightful, and there were some really hot sex scenes that were just fabulous. The audiobook was narrated by Nick Hudson who has one of my favorite audiobook voices. He has smooth, even tones that make for a really pleasant listening experience. He also adds flair and drama with his performance without going over the top.

Cute and Fluff

Simon is such a interesting character, too bad his angst it's not really showed. I dove in thinking this would be a emotional and full of angst listen, but it's not. It's a long listen, 9h with a thin plot. The insta-love scenario didn't worked here, I would much prefer a slow burn when the book is that long. Nothing much happened, the character development is basically off page. I'm disappointed but I think my expectations were too high for this one, my fault. The narration is amazing, Nick Hudson delivered a passion and emotional narration. I like his style and his voice. Looking forward to listen more of him.
