Publisher's Summary

Love.

It's my name. It's what I fight for. It's Frankie.

I'm a fighter. Trained to always keep my cover. To anticipate, see the next hit coming. I never expected her past to come at us swinging like it has.

I'm about to take on two of the most important fights of my life. My girl and the belt. I know that I can handle it, that I'll never stop fighting. But what do you do when your life, your love is threatened and you can't take the hits - she has to? You shut your eyes and f--king pray like hell that she's strong enough, fierce enough to come out on top.

I went to war for her. Now it's her turn.

JEEEEZ... I THINK I'M GOING TO NEED THERAPY AFTER THIS LISTEN

What a powerful whirlwind of a listen this was because it picked me up from where it had so cruelly abandoned me at the end of book 1, then it ruthlessly tossed all my emotions around, threw in shocks surprises and twists and finally it left me utterly tempest tossed..... but oh so so happy.

This new and gifted Author packed so much delicious drama into the many riveting and tension packed hours.... a soul deep passionate romance, hot sex, danger, the Irish Mafia, heartbreak, a hot dirty talking Alpha Hero, a feisty but vulnerable Heroine and there's also a close family unit of secondary characters. I'm not even going to give you a skeleton outline of the plot because there's so much action, suspense, heartache and a beautiful love story that's all yours to uncover.... but I will say that Mandi Beck certainly didn't hold back on the emotional punches.

As with book 1, it's mainly told from Deacon's powerful, volatile, fraught and very emotional POV and again Wen and Kai did a great job at making this story flow so well which maxed out my enjoyment because they brought each Chapter to life.

Worth a credit? Mandi Beck is a new Author and she'll be an auto download from now on because she blew me away with this powerful listen and the characters contained within it who I've been to Hell and back with and have grown so fond of.... sniff sniff - I'll miss them all. This second slice of Deacon and Frankie's explosive, all consuming and turbulent love story, IMO was definitely, unconditionally, absolutely and totally creditworthy.... in fact I'm tempted to listen to it all over again.

Great Story For Adrenaline Junkies! 👏👏👏👏👏

Wow! What a solid follow up to book one! Beck takes the listener on one heck of an emotional roller coaster ride, and delivers more steam, angst, suspense, drama, and heartache. The sex scenes were extra HOT and Spicy, and perfectly balanced with lots of drama, danger, and fights! These characters had one obstacle right after the next to face, and conquer, and Deacon wasn't giving up.... he was alpha to the core! I LOVED this story, and characters! 💕 Beck is definitely an automatic download for me!

As for the narration, it was flawless! Anything this duo narrates is awesome. The emotions they bring to life are pitch perfect, and they WOW me every time! 👏👏👏

This book picks up right where book 2 ends... thank god!!! I loved that we got complete closure at the end of this book. It was sad, sweet, happy and dirty all together. Deacon grew on me more with this book for sure. I didn't dislike him in book 1 but he was just hard to love. Frankie was a little childish in the last book and towards the end of this book she really showed her strength! It was a little high in drama but I get it completely.

Love the narration <3

Adrenaline Rush!!!!

This team did it again! Wen and Kai flowed flawlessly as ever. The ending was perfect!! This was more emotional than the first but that made it all the better. Thank you Beck for an amazing Duet, I can't wait to read or listen to the next!

Great conclusion to Frankie & Deacon's story!

Where does Love Burns rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Definitely towards the top! I really love Wen and Kai's voices and they really were the perfect Deacon and Frankie.

What did you like best about this story?

I really liked the suspense and action in this book, in addition to the romance and witty banter. Deacon has THE BEST shirts and I love how fiercely all the characters love and rally around each other. They aren't afraid to call the other out on their BS, and the digs and comebacks are hilarious!

Which character – as performed by Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott – was your favorite?

Indie is such a hoot! I love the way Kai brings her to life! She has some of the best lines and comebacks. I laughed almost every time she was in a scene. She is honest and fearless and she brought a lot of needed levity to the story.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Love Burns was a lot more emotional than Love Hurts. This one really did make my heart hurt. The conflict/drama that Frankie and Deacon have prior to the title fight really resonated with me, because Frankie voiced my feelings EXACTLY about the push and pull of their relationship. There are also events towards the end that are just gut wrenching. Though the epilogue was wonderful, there is still a part of my heart missing.

Any additional comments?

Although I did enjoy this duet, alpha Deacon is a little over the top for me at times. I did love watching him become the man Frankie always knew him to be though and was rooting for them to get their happily ever after. Wen was outstanding in this and made the story incredibly entertaining!

My Two Pennies

Stick and move, STICK AND MUTHAEFFIN MOVE! Damn the story gets more and more intense with Deacon & Frankie, I'm cheering these two on constantly but it seems something is always getting in their way. What a story though, I was giggling and the gasping at the events that took place and was thrown for a total loop at one point. Great read.

...sigh...

So I may have jokingly called the author names in my review of Love Hurts but it was warranted. This book on the other hand had be constantly sending her messages. (I cannot discuss them based on the spoiler potential, just know that vengeance will be mine.)

If you learned anything about Deac and Princess, it's that their relationship is beyond explanation. Words are never enough. Probably because communication is not their strong suit...

But these two are fighters! The question is will they ever stop fighting each other so that they can fight side by side.

The feels...sigh, the feels.
No spoilers though so you to will have to grin and bear it.

I had an absolute blast with these books and will continue to explore more of the author's works.

Great Book

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, it was a great book that I wanted to read all at one time.

Any additional comments?

Love Burns by Mandi Beck was a great book. This was a great continuation of Love Hurts. Frankie and Deacon are a couple that you want the best things for. They are a couple that will do anything for each other. They go through more things than most couples should never have to go through more things than most couples ever go through. They were all things that should tear them apart. I loved seeing Deacon and Frankie together. I can't wait to read more by Mandi Beck. This is a must read series.

Deacon "The Hitman" Love comes back swinging!

What made the experience of listening to Love Burns the most enjoyable?

Kai and Wen are amazing! These two have chemistry like none I've heard before. I love listening to this duo.

What other book might you compare Love Burns to and why?

Love Hurts for obvious reasons, but also Sacrifice by Adriana Locke. There is something about those fighter novels that keep me interested. Those alpha men really know how to woo a girl.

Which scene was your favorite?

I can't get into my favorite scene without spoiling the end. THAT ENDING! Wow! It's perfect!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Stick and Move.

Any additional comments?

Mandi Beck writes a great fighter romance. Kai and Wen bring the characters to life. This book is an emotional roller coaster and I didn't want to get off the ride.

Must Win The Princess

What made the experience of listening to Love Burns the most enjoyable?

The performance really made the story come alive!

What did you like best about this story?

It had a lot of plot twists and action but ended with a really sweet HEA :)

What about Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott ’s performance did you like?

Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott truly made these characters enjoyable (even when you wanted to throttle them...) And brought the story to life. The way they play off each other is a real treat. Each character is portrayed as an individual, complete with quirks and mannerisms. This was a really fun listen and wrapped up the support very nicely. I can't wait to listen to what they do next!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved the title fight! It was amazing :)

Any additional comments?

This series must be listened to (or read) in order. The first book is Love Hurts. This is the second, and final, book.

Reeling from the loss of one of their own everyone grieves in their own way. From self destructive behavior and recriminations to doubt and depression the characters experience all the stages of grief before finally finding their way to acceptance and moving on with their lives. The amount of growth from all the characters is awe inspiring and makes this book both uplifing and intense. It was a unique experience and I am truly glad I stuck with it :)

***This series is suitable for adult listeners (or readers) who enjoy MMA romantic thriller suspense with plenty of angst and violence as well as some intrigue and two characters who can't seem to get out of their own way most of the time but eventually leading to a HEA :)
