There are some mistakes we make that we will regret for the rest of our lives. For Christian, it was the day he betrayed Elizabeth. Christian Davison has a plan for his life. He is determined to become an attorney and to one day take his place as partner in his father's law firm. Nothing will stand in his way, not even Elizabeth Ayers and their unborn child. After Christian cuts her from his life, Elizabeth spends the next five years struggling to provide for her daughter and willing to sacrifice anything to give her child a safe, comfortable life. For five years, Christian has regretted the day he walked away from his family and will do anything to win them back just as Elizabeth will do anything to protect her daughter from the certain heartache she believes Christian will bring upon them. When Christian wrestles his way into their lives, Elizabeth is faced with asking herself if it is possible to forgive someone when they've committed the unforgiveable and if it is possible to find a love after it has been buried in years of hate. Or are there some wounds that go so deep they can never heal? They say everyone deserves a second chance.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

If you have nothing else better to do then maybe. There are a couple cute parts but overall I would say this book is a pass.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Made it more realistic.... Spoiler alert.... The fact that he stays away got 5 years then suddenly moves to the same city where his daughter moved and just happens to run into her is too much of a coincidence. Then they fall magically in love after the way Christian had treated Elizabeth. Also, who names their daughter their name? Come on! More than a bit was lacking from the story and the characters.

Have you listened to any of Andi Arndt’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Could you see Take This Regret being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No it's not worth it

Long and drawn out. Save your $$$

Amy is tearing me apart with this series. This one picks up where the last one finished. We have alternating chapters for Elizabeth and Christian and we are shown little by little how their past has shaped their present. They both never stopped loving each other but never believed they’d ever meet again.

This is such an emotional book, with highs and lows. Amy once again squeezes our hearts with the grief of losing your first love. As always she’s written the cutest kid. Lizzie is definitely the shining light in this book. We see the relationship develop between father and daughter and it is everything. Christian is torn apart by the fact that he abandoned Elizabeth and his unborn child and is desperate to make things right. We start to feel like we’re getting there when the wheels most definitely start to fall off.

Andi does a great job of voicing both main characters. She has an array of voices used for the side characters and we are treated to that feeling of being right there in the moment.

No spoilers here, but brace yourselves for a book that is real and raw and full of passion and love.

This is real and raw and Andi keeps us right there

this is the second a l Jackson book I have listened to and I look forward to many more of his stories.

Awesome

I enjoyed this book enough to read the next one, even though I have read some ugly reviews. I liked the characters. I loved them in the prequel. I knew him to be rash and her to be a little over reactive, but was excited to see their story play out.
I get he thought of them and lived with his mistake, but I don't think he tried enough ... Not until they were convenient for him. I get her as only a mother would.

I understand her anger and freakout.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Probably not. I really wanted to like this book, but, good grief, the characters just made it really hard.

Would you ever listen to anything by A. L. Jackson again?

I highly doubt it.

Any additional comments?

I've read several comments that the events of this book were highly unbelievable. While these are not untrue, the outlandishness of this book didn't really bother me too much. That being said, many other things did.

The characters in this book are just cardboard cutouts of people. I felt no attachment to any one of them. Their interactions were weird and stilted. Things that should have gotten them upset, they brushed off, while things that they should have just let go, they allowed to become huge deals. The final issue between the lead couple is resolved too quickly after being made into a gigantic problem for too long.

Nothing really happens in this book. I'm assuming it's supposed to be character-driven rather than event-driven, and that's fine. But the characters are just so damn boring that I couldn't really find myself caring.

Usually Andi Arndt is one of my more preferred narrators, but if I hear her whisper into a mic one more time, I'm going to scream.

In my opinion, you can skip this book unless you really like dramas centered around fixing broken families.

Just a bit disappointing...
