Publisher's summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

The thirteenth book in the beloved, bestselling Redwall saga—soon to be a major Netflix movie!

Salamandastron, under the guardianship of old Lord Stonepaw, is under threat from an enemy of immense and terrifying power. Ungatt Trunn, the wildcat who can make the stars fall from the sky, has attacked with his Blue Hordes and is determined that the fortress should be his. The mountain's defences are weak and it seems that nothing can stand in his way.

Nothing, that is, but the badger Lord Brocktree, who is drawn to Salamandastron by an undeniable sense of duty. But if he is to rescue the mountain from Trunn and his verminous hordes, he must gather about him an army capable of defeating them in battle. Together with the irrepressible haremaid, Dotti, and a host of brave creatures, Brocktree journeys to Salamandastron to fulfil his destiny.

Excellent story, but narrator struggled with pronunciation and accents

Great to see the audiobooks continuing. Hope for future ones, the narrator will prep for on Jacques’ pronunciations and accents. It brings you out of the story when things are mispronounced.

Good story miss the old Redwall

The old Redwall had every character had a different reader voice I know that Brian Jacques died but they could have kept it the old way

A great Story...

After years of waiting Lord Brocktree is finally an audio book. This should be a cause for celebration. Sadly there are glaring errors in the narration by Mr. Falkner that would have been easy to avoid. With as many times as Brian Jacques said G.U.O.S.I.M. or Salamandastron or Eulialia you would think that the production team would have told Mr. Falkner how to say things so that the story would flow. Overall it is a great story but please use the Pronunciation established by the author.

great attempt

The Redwall series needs a full cast narration. No discredit to the narrator but some traditions should be upheld. while Brian Jacques is no longer with us I am sure this narrator could have been a great lead narrator.

Great read and character voices

Prepare for a full cast and immersion of animal character voices. Worth the listen for sure.

One of our favorite redwall books

The Bark Crew and the Hares and Skiggles were good. No parts that we really disliked.

Great story, awful narration.

This is one of my favorite Redwall stories, but the performance was terrible. It's frequently difficult to listen to and/or understand. Not to mention that many words and names from the series are mispronounced. If you haven't already, I recommend reading the book. If you have, I recommend reading the book again because this audiobook does not do it justice.

Good reader

I'm used to the full cast performance recordings but I still enjoyed this reader.

Another great redwall story

This version was good but missed the music, singing and characters of Brian Jaques readings.
