Publisher's summary

A witch’s familiar must protect London from the monsters that lurk in the shadows; the creatures that seek to unravel the fabric of things and send a city to hell.

Stella Familiar was created by the London Coven out of spit and blood.

She’s a fighter, a blunt instrument, built to destroy the forces of evil and keep peace in the capital.

She’s carried out her duty for decades, but when the witches who gave birth to her are butchered, it’s up to her alone to save a city of nine million people.

Mystery, scares, and fast-paced action collide in this thrilling urban fantasy. London Coven: A Three-Book Collection, combines the first three books in the London Coven series:

  1. Familiar Magic
  2. Nightmare Realm
  3. Deadly Portent

Stella

I'll be honest I like Stella...but the crossover in book two is my favorite part. The Uncanny Universe is a delightful escape. I highly recommend you get any of these wonderful adventures

Light and amusing

It's the characters that kept me coming back for more. They're quirky and charming with amusing dialog throughout the stories. I enjoyed listening to Stella Familiar's adventures with the Uncanny inhabitants of London, but I'd say these books are a bit like potato chips. You can't have just one and when you get to the bottom of the bag you're still hungry.

I'm also glad this is a three book collection, because the second story ends on an annoying cliffhanger. I was happy to not have to wait for or search out the third book as the audio segued right into it and addressed the cliffhanger immediately.

The stories themselves are not very deep and the plot lines are a bit loose on the resolution end, and Stella does bang on a bit about the loss of her coven, but what made it all worthwhile was the superb narration. Heather Tracy has phenomenal voice skills and brings every character to life. She does an exceptional job with Mr Trick's unhinged, multi-voiced dialog. Not an easy feat and she makes it an effortless listening experience. Her comedic timing is perfect too. The many amusing exchanges in the books had me grinning or laughing out loud.

So, vivid and engaging, but not too deep. On the whole the London Coven omnibus is an enjoyable, easy listen.

Awesome Narration, Great Series! (Love David!!)

I want to start this review by complimenting the narrator Heather Tracy.
The narration was exceptionally well done and I enjoyed it so much.
I especially loved the parts when the Main Character, Stella Familiar, get angry/ heated.. it's so well done it really felt like Heather felt the emotions too while performing.
And there is a Character in the series that uses a different voice for every word in the same sentence. As you can imagine that's a huge challenge to narrate, but this was also done perfectly. Bravo!

Stella is a likable and interesting Main Character and I loved the 'team up' with David.
David is personally responsible for 90% of the fun, laughs and lightheartedness the series, and you can't help but love him instantly.
It wouldn't been the same without him.

Despite this series containing so many elements I enjoy (excellent narration, urban-fantasy, first person narrative, surprising twists, fun and laughs, good stories, likable main and side characters, good writing) I wasn't as invested in the story as I would have liked/ expected.
I can't put a finger on why. (and maybe it's just because of my own mood?)
I did enjoy and finish the trilogy, and I think it deserves my 4/5 stars.

This trilogy is suitable for Adult (me) and Young Adult alike. (it didn't have the typical YA drama though, and for me that's a major plus!)
I thought it was more of a Mystery/ Urban-Fantasy than a Thriller.

I got this Audio Book for free (thanks!). I'm voluntarily leaving this review.

She is not just a familiar.

After the death of the most powerful three witches their familiar Stella must step up a do what she was made to do. Stella Familiar decides to take over and take care of the people in London. David Tyler is just a mortal but together they make one check if a dynamic duo. There adventures come to life and make this book even more phenomenal.
These books are well written with a lot of sass and sarcastic wit. I love how the characters develop and become strong in their own rights.
I was given this book upon my request and I voluntarily leaving an honest review.
