They're smart, sexy, and supernatural: they're the men and women of the Otherworld - a realm of witches, ghosts, and werewolves who live unseen among us. Only now a reckless killer has torn down the wall, trapping one very human woman in the supernatural cross fire.

Robyn Peltier moved to Los Angeles after her young husband's sudden death. Though she's still grieving, the challenges of her new life as the PR consultant to Portia Kane - the world's most famous celebutante wannabe - can sometimes be amusing, even distracting. But when her client is gunned down in a nightclub, Robyn is suddenly on the run as the prime suspect in the murder. And as more bodies pile up around her, it seems like only Hope Adams, Robyn's best friend, and Hope's somewhat spooky boyfriend Karl are on Robyn's side. But it's not the police Hope is worried about, and the only way Hope can keep her friend alive is by letting her enter a world she's safer knowing nothing about.

Tired of listening to stories about humans? Consider the werewolf! Taking various forms over the course of centuries and mythologies, often as flesh-devourers, werewolves now commonly appear in fantasy and romance novels as shape-shifters. The shape-shifting element in werewolves' stories has almost humanized them, depicting the internal struggles we all face within ourselves, on some level or another.

Decent story. It picks up 1/3 of the way in so that you notice the horrible narration a little less. The main female character sounds like a vapid whiny valley girl you kind of want to slap. Also she says "Hamie" instead of "Jamie" which is annoying.

Really bad narrator

I’d probably say that this is the worst book of the series, though it’s not a bad book. Some crazy plot twists and lack of character generation for some new characters. What really irked me was the way the narrator pronounced Jaime Vegas’ name. I have no idea how anyone can not know how to say that name. I’m honestly amazed that the editor didn’t make her correct those parts. I’m glad I got through the story though and I’m ready to move on to Frostbitten.

Overall decent

I love these books. They're brain candy. Unfortunately this narrator would pull me out of the story by mispronunciation.
The worst was pronouncing Jamie Vegas name wrong. (As Hie-Me not Jay-Me)

Not my favorite narrator

I absolutely loved the series in the Canadian Wilds, and was a little disappointed with starting this series so I took this rock. It has the wonderful writing like that other series. I admit I did skip a few books but I'm encouraged to go back and read all of them You won't be disappointed with it it has the depth and writing skills that I am mired in that other series called Rockton? It always left you wanting more.

Absolute best in this series so far

I listened to a series and while I get they changed narrators due to different focused protagonists. Huge GAP was having a completely different pronunciation for a key character in ONE book. The name is Jamie, was always with the J pronounced as J and this book changes pronunciation of J to H. 😳 Why? I get that is correct in Spanish but the WHOLE series is different than this one book. Basics for any audiobook woukd ve beforehand verification of how to pronounce character names. Period.

Great story but…
