Robyn Peltier moved to Los Angeles after her young husband's sudden death. Though she's still grieving, the challenges of her new life as the PR consultant to Portia Kane - the world's most famous celebutante wannabe - can sometimes be amusing, even distracting. But when her client is gunned down in a nightclub, Robyn is suddenly on the run as the prime suspect in the murder. And as more bodies pile up around her, it seems like only Hope Adams, Robyn's best friend, and Hope's somewhat spooky boyfriend Karl are on Robyn's side. But it's not the police Hope is worried about, and the only way Hope can keep her friend alive is by letting her enter a world she's safer knowing nothing about.

Robyn Peltier moved to Los Angeles shortly after her young husband’s sudden and unexpected death. Her hope was that her hectic new life as the PR consultant to a spoiled celebutante would provide a distraction from her grief. But when her client is murdered, Robyn finds herself on the run as the prime suspect. And as more bodies pile up around her, it seems only her friend, tabloid journalist Hope Adams, is on her side. But Hope and her boyfriend Karl know it’s just a matter of time before Robyn is caught. For she’s gotten herself in the middle of a turf war between two Otherworld races who’ll spill any amount of blood to protect what they consider theirs for eternity. I really enjoyed the story, however I was very use to everyone in the story having some type of power and it was just a little disappointing that Robyn is just human.Another Great Book...But the Narrator

How did the narrator detract from the book?
she detracted by being the narrator she was terrible. she mutilated the voices and she mispronounced names. it would have been better if she had not attempted voices at all.Any additional comments?
I LOVE Kelly Armstrong. I love her writing and I love the series. I was very upset when I realized the narrator was so terrible! she has no sense for the characters, and she cannot even come close to a passable male voice. Karl sounds like someone is constantly choking him, and her female voices are almost as bad. They are difficult to tell apart and they sound like 16 year old brainless twits. Also how the hell do you repeatedly mispronounce Jamie as Haime?!? I could understand if the character was male or hispanic, but the character is FEMALE and a REDHEAD! I was very sad to see such a great stories ruined by a incompetent narrator. The narrator needs to be fired.
