Strange things are happening in Maya's tiny Vancouver Island town. First, her friend Serena, the captain of the swim team, drowns mysteriously in the middle of a calm lake. Then, one year later, mountain lions are spotted rather frequently around Maya's home and her reactions to them are somewhat . . . unexpected. Her best friend, Daniel, has also been experiencing unexplainable premonitions about certain people and situations.
It doesn't help that the new bad boy in town, Rafe, has a dangerous secret, and he's interested in one special part of Maya's anatom - her paw-print birthmark.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Gathering to be better than the print version?
I liked listening to the story, it has a great inner dialogue from the view point of the main character that gives it an overall comfortable feel. I really appreciated the character development, but it lacked a clear ending.Who was your favorite character and why?
Daniel, he's just such a great guy! What does Jennifer Ikeda bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
A voice to the character of Mia.If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
?Any additional comments?
I think a lot of the book would get lost if tried to place into a movie, there is just so many little details that would not make it due to time, and like I said, this book has no clear ending, it just ends. It's like the book got too long, so she abrubtly stops and begins the next book.Great Beginning

Where does The Gathering rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Pretty high. I was looking something in this genre that wasn't too shallow. Great voice and voice acting by Jennifer Ikeda, perfect for falling asleep (I'm saying this as a compliment). What other book might you compare The Gathering to and why?
Book 2 and 3....What about Jennifer Ikeda’s performance did you like?
Her voice is so serene. Also, you can't beat a professional voice actor- she does a great job with male vocals as well.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

What did you love best about The Gathering?
Kelly Armstrong usually fleshes out characters pretty well. The narrator can make or break an audio book. In this case the narrator fits very well with the story line and I plan to try the next book in this series. What other book might you compare The Gathering to and why?

Her voice and emphasis works perfectly with the teenage high school characters. Definitely makes the book worth listening to.If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
If the storyline leads where I think its going...Not the typical werewolf/werecat start to a series
