Sorry I Listened to This

I bought this after watching some YouTube videos of Ken Wapnick. He seemed to have a rye sense of humor and insights into A Course in Miracles. And if this audio had just been Wapnick it might have been okay. But there is a un-credited narrator who comes on between segments to tell you either what Wapnick is going to say or what he has said. This narrator sounds like a car salesman. Then in the final third of the program, a woman named Gloria comes on to add her two-cents worth. Gloria seems to have suffered through the Course and seems determined to make the listener suffer, too. She takes what Wapnick keeps referring to as a simple spiritual program and turns it into a staggering complicated ordeal. There are steps on a ladder that "students" of the course must climb. There are stages, some of them painful, which "students" must go through. Gloria's experience with the Course is hard to listen to. If she were a Christian missionary, there would be very few Christians because she makes this "spiritual program" seem like a death march. Perhaps a young masochist would find Gloria's version of the Course attractive as she invites listeners to embark on a lifetime struggle that does not appear to have made her a happier person. Wapnick's parts are interesting and sometimes amusing but between the syrupy narrator and Gloria's suffering, the end result of listening to this workshop is pretty much a complete turn off.

Beginners Should NOT Take on This Presentation!!!

A not so great representation of ACIM. If this had been my first glimpse of the course, I'd have run and never looked back. With so many inspiring and beautiful messages throughout the course's text to expound upon, this presentation seemed a bit dogmatic and singularly focused on humankind's error in choice -- over and over and over again. I found myself thinking if I were depressed or suicidal, this discussion would affirm any desire to end my physical existence and return home to reverse that error in judgement. Wapnick sounded aggressive and dogmatic at times. Passages were read, re-read, re-worded and hyper-dissected, with few comprehensible interpretations or examples for real-life application. The Wapnicks may be experts on this material, but they are challenging orators to listen to for any length of time and completely uninspiring (perhaps I'm projecting here?).. As others have noted in these reviews, I'll assume that the production choices are the culprit and would encourage anyone interested in experiencing the true beauty and inspiration of this course to seek elsewhere.

Living A Course In Miracles

I found this audio book mind blowing. At the end of the audio book I had such a deep peace, unlike anything I've ever experienced.

Excellent presentation

This is a very valuable audio-document of Kenneth Wapnick's teachings on A Course in Miracles. It is wonderful that Audible has made it available, and I recommend it whole-heartedly. You will not be disappointed.

I don't often give reviews

I enjoyed it very much. The insightfulness that is demonstrated through the course of this seminar is wonderful to listen to. I took a star away for the performance because of the music that was intersected into the book over the course of the seminar, often over Kenneth's voice. It was distracting. I really wish they would not have done that. Overall I loved it.

Wow....So very insightful and spot on.

Every time I think I've got it all from this book, I listen again and pick up more information/insights. this is my 4th time listening and I'll keep listening until I suppose the holy spirit leads me elsewhere.

Now all I have to do is practice what it teaches

Anyone who reads ACIM and has a hard time understanding it or even doesn't have a hard time understanding it ... will receive a lot of help with these lectures given by Kenneth Wapnick and Gloria. I want more.....:)

One of my favorite downloads

Brilliant from start to finish. A real Waptastic tour de force. I recommend it with a non dualistic cherry on top.

Ken is the best ACIM teacher ever!

This is the book to have and revisit regularly. Ken has the deepest understanding of ACIM and he is so articulate in his messages. A wonderful programme!
Although the recording is at times not of brilliant quality, it's still OK as the message is what matters most.

Excellent lecture series

Excellent sequence of "live" lectures by Ken, although they are rather oddly presented by Barney the Talking Dinosaur. So far I've been unable to download the accompanying work book, but I don't think it's going to contain many surprises.

Must hear content, but could be better production

If you want to understand the book 'A Course In Miracles', this is a great listen. Ken and Gloria Wapnick talk an audience through applying the course and its lessons. I can't recommend the content enough, as someone who is trying to understand 'A Course In Miracles' and apply it. But I could not give it 5 stars overall as the sound quality is poor in places and there are strange interludes of music. These are brief but sometimes seem to serve no purpose and are over the speaking. At other times I note the music leads to a summary of what has been said, but that is not always the case, and I could do without the music altogether. I appreciate this is from lectures/workshops they were giving so the sound will be different from a book. Do listen if you are curious.

Immensely helpful insights

I have studied ACIM for a few years now and read loads, especially Gary Renard. This book is great for offering g loads of practical titbits. I had a huge number of insights, all while walking my dogs in the woods in the morning.

Insightful and well worth the listen

This is one of those life changing books. If you have read a course in miracles and struggled with it (as we all do) this will help you make sense of it. One of the few books narrated by the author that works. I listened at a slower speed because Ken speaks faster than is comfortable for me. But that is just me. Apart from the slightly cheesy intros/music it is an easy and delightful listen. Thankyou Audible and a huge thankyou to Ken xxx

Beautiful and inspiring all the way.

This audio book is a beautiful summary of the Course, hard at times , but there is a light at the end which gives one hope despite all the seeming difficulties of the world. The only failure is to give up, as long as we keep going and doing our best possible, we shall prevail.
