Did not like the narrator at all. She did not do either the author or the story justice.

I hate to say this, but the narration is pretty awful. I love Connie Willis, but the narrator kept bringing me out of the story. It’s unfortunate, since my eyes don’t work very well these days, but I would rather read this book myself.

Good story, unfortunate narration

I enjoyed the story a lot, but it was hard to listen to. The narrator has a really grating habit of dragging out the sound of the last syllable at the end of nearly every sentence. If you’re new to Connie Willis, maybe don’t start here. To Say Nothing of the Dog, Black Out / All Clear, and Crosstalk are all excellent places to start reading (or listening to) your new favorite author.

BOOOOORING

Painfully repetitive, this book crams three very boring stories (a war, someone’s dreams, and the main storyline) into one confusing mess. The plot is entirely predictable with no twist or substance, and is often downright stupid. It drags on and on... and on, endlessly recycling scenes and phrases. I skipped ahead in frustration and missed absolutely nothing, proving just how empty and tedious it is. Avoid this disaster.
