Truly A Fictional Story...No Value For Preppers

First off, I know that this is supposed to be a fictional apocalyptic adventure, but between the inaccuracies regarding people's physical abilities, firearms handling and function, the internal dialogue of the main character, plus the author's obvious obsession with injuries and blood, leads me to believe that most readers would be better off elsewhere. As an example, the main character was a female that was supposedly hiking through the apocalypse with a 60 lbs. backpack...Anyone who has experience with hiking, survival training knows this is absurd! There were too many other parts of the stories that were painful to listen to...I wanted to quit many times before finishing the book, but I am not a quiter! The final main character had too much inner dialogue that bordered on being a headcase and I may need to seek counseling after hearing her ramblings over and over.
If you are looking for a totally unrealistic post-apocalyptic adventure then I hope this fits your needs? If you are looking for a realistic post-apocalyptic adventure that is based upon actual hands-on experience in survival, firearms, close quarters combat, tactical operations, etc...Look elsewhere!

Are you kidding me??

I am not sure where to begin. I am normally a huge fan of this type of book.
Both of the stories have an amazing disregard for anything approaching reality. The need for consultation in the areas of weaponry , weather and general survivability is breathtaking.. However, if you have a blind need for a heroin that is put on a pedestal for absolutely no reason other than she's hard-headed and gets people killed then I guess this is for you...

Not the best of the genre

The Perils of Pauline with plot holes. I like getting the boxed sets as there are many hours for a regular or reduce price. This one bit me on the, well you get the idea. At one point I realized that I had previously purchased the second of the set and at that point stopped listening. My bad. There were a couple of surprises but overall, in spite of the stupid mistakes the characters made, one knows how things will work out. No suspense and other than how fools can survive, it was predictable, plot holes not withstanding.

Don't east your time

Save your money poor plot forced myself to listen to about 3/4 because I was driving and needed the distraction

men and father's are optional.

As a guy, a father, and husband myself the book made me feel all the things that my wife make me feel when I am being inadequate in he eyes. This book is for mother who love the idea of an EMP hitting the United States. Though I can't imagine there are too many mothers out there who want to see the world turned upside down and their kids put in harms way. If your father this book is not for you, if you're a guy who's just trying to do the best for those he loves this book is not for you. the book was well written but had a lot of impractical scenario like single mothers taking on hordes of bad guys with one weapon and that never runs out of bullets, or when it does the threat has just passed. I think the author must have been getting over a divorce and is taking out frustrations in this book. all and all read at your own risk just know that there's a lot of man bashing here.

A lack of research and technical flaws doom this series

This is, in my opinion, a simply awful series of books that appears to be the first attempt at storytelling by a recent college graduate, rather than from a seasoned writer.

In fact, I could not make it all the way through the series. That’s because the technical errors that could only stem from inadequate technical research—or no research—were so pervasive and so often repeated.

The characters in the story is, with a few exceptions, do not rise to even two dimensions. The stories require that you not only suspend disbelief, but you also believe that what would otherwise be impossible to fathom is commonplace, and the central characters draw those impossibilities to them like magnets, repeatedly and inexplicably.

Lest my opinions and conclusions remain unclear, this “super box set” is a super disappointment.

Stupendously bad

I couldn't even maker it half way. I don't think I've ever been more annoyed at a protagonist.

And for heaven's sake, if you're going to write about guns, survivalists and the military, at least read a book on them first. And when your main subject is a known, documented phenomena like EMP, read two. Then read another one about the existing, real world prep for it that is already in place.

On the bright side, I'm going to look for more by the narrator. She did a good job, transcending what she was handed to work with.

The books were great. Good story line with lots of surprises. I wanted it to go on.

awful book

This book was awful in every way. I purchase 5 or more books per month and have NEVER been so disappointed. I want a full credit on this one.

Could Not Get Into It

Struggled to get past opening chapters. Maybe better in book format, didn't enjoy the narration.
