I was so excited when I saw this book was on audible. I love the series and couldn't wait to listen to the story. I was so disappointed with the narrator. After listening to the pride series and the other books, this one is just so monotone. Her voice didn't change at all. If she didn't specifically say the persons name, you would think it was the same person and just one long sentence. I was waiting to hear Elina's accent as she struggled with a new language but was sadly disappointed. The narrator took all the humor out the the book :(

Better narration finally!

Shelly / Aiken is an outstanding writer so this review will be all about the narration.
I have been a huge fan of Shelly Laurenston/G.A. Aiken for too many years to count. i have purchased every book she has written and was ecstatic when i learned she was going to be published in audiobook format. i was soon disappointed when the narration and production quality of her books turned out to be so poor in quality. but now i can finally give a review that does not warn her fans to stay away from the audio version of her books! while not perfect, this narration is a vast improvement and does not destroy the book. aside from a few moments of pausing in the middle of a sentence every once in awhile Morgan Hallett did a great job of not disrupting the flow of the book with random out of place exclamations or overly long pauses while narrating. i enjoyed listening to this title and say it's about time this great writer was given decent narration.

I have read them all and recommend reading them in order. my only complaint is that the audio versions have not been released in order.

If you love Shelly Laurenston's Pride series you will love these too.

Would you consider the audio edition of Light My Fire to be better than the print version?

Loved this book entirely. Celon and Alina's story, the continuation and continuity of previous characters and plot lines, seeing previous beloved characters with children (Gwnevael's and Dagmar's especially!! What a hoot!) the humor and spark had been lost a bit in the past couple books (Eibhear and Izzies book was a huge disappointment) but this one brings back the magic! And the narrator did a phenomenal job!

The characters, original plot, and hilarity amid heightened tension, weaving several threads of storyline together into a tapestry of magnificence!

Which character – as performed by Morgan Hallett – was your favorite?

Alina. Love them all but she really nailed Alina's personality.

Yes although I couldn't

The first book in the series was a bit.. We'll I had to develop a taste for it as Annwyl is a complete Mary Sue, albeit an enjoyable one. But from book two on I have immensely enjoyed the series, except in the handling of Izzies and Eibhears relationship and the triangle between them and Celon. That was a book wall moment (book flies thru air and hits wall). But despite my disappointment with that plot line, I have really enjoyed the whole series. Brilliant.

I enjoyed the story very much it was literally laugh out loud. Also I like how all the previous characters were very much a part of the story.

I believe the narrator is truly gifted by bringing the characters to life. So yes I do believe this makes the audio version better

She reads the book as if she knows it by heart and knows exactly how each sentence should be read.

Yes, hysterical laughter. I haven't enjoyed a book this much in a long time.

This is by far one of most favorite series of all the series that I have read. I look so forward to each new book. I just wish the wait wasn't so long.
