Publisher's Summary

A funny and romantic story of love after 40.

This just in...dating after 40 is not easy.

Online dating after 40 is even harder.

It's been two years since my husband passed away. Two years since my world was turned upside down.

I've tried dating. I've tried new hobbies. I've even tried yoga. I have failed at them all. That's why I'm hanging up my dating shoes and focusing on what I really love in life - books, wine, and cupcakes. Life's too short to not choose the cake.

Then I met Dillon. Sexy and Irish, he sets my pulse racing and my puts a smile on my face.

This may not have been the life I planned, but it's my life rewritten.

LOVED this precious book!

I am so glad I got this book! I have an hour and a half commute each day, and this book was a GREAT way to help with the commute! I laughed out loud too many times to count. The story is so sweet and we all need a good romance story--especially with all that is going on in our world today. I really enjoyed listening to the book. The narrator was tremendous--she did such a great job portraying all the characters, and her comedic timing was perfect. I highly recommend this book for a "feel good" novel.

Cute Story

The story was cute and the idea for Victoria’s business seemed really fun. I could definitely relate to wanting to curl up with book in a cozy nook without distractions. I liked trying to figure out Dylan’s secret even though I was unsuccessful. I ended up being surprised once it was revealed and then it all made sense! He was redeemed and such a good, patient guy. The accent didn’t hurt either!

The narration was a bit challenging to get used to. It could have been read more smoothly as it felt quite choppy.

Great Rom-Com

This is one of the best Rom Coms I have listened to in a while. I loved following Victoria on here venture to rediscover herself 3 years after losing her husband to cancer, and just after her son has gone to college. With an incredibly supportive best friend (Ana) and her younger sister (Charlotte) Victoria goes starts with some attempts at on-line dating. I loved all of the girls nights these 3 women shared. They felt so real. Victoria's relationship with Dylan is incredible. Dylan is such a swoon worthy character. This book is written so well that I felt like I could have easily been Victoria. The way her thoughts are written felt so very real.

Wonderful wonderful Story

I really loved this one. It is a nice mix of Humor and life. I thought it would be sad at first but it isn’t. The story starts with her ridiculous online dating stories. We see bits of her husband in flashbacks. I did LOVE the notes he left her all over and then that last letter....it really hit me hard. Dillion is the super sexy IRISH...coffee and dessert making hottie she meets. He is really the best! When she met him and geeked out over his eyes and how she wanted to pet his velvety hair?I laughed and laughed every time I heard that.

Overall this is an enjoyable story that kept me smiling throughout. The characters were great and even her friend/sister were nice secondary characters. I was shocked at the end. It has a surprise I didn’t see coming.

I did listen to this on audio. S.T. Edwards did a good job with the narration. I only wish there was more of an Irish brogue. She did fine because the story calls for a light accent but it would have been amazing to hear a bit more.

In one word: ADORABLE!

In one word: ADORABLE!

It’s a story for and about book lovers--either readers or writers. The main character find solace in written stories and decides she’s going to create a safe haven for people like her. And if, by the end of the book, you don’t want that kind of place, you aren’t enough of a reader.

I found the writing style both perky and sweet, like the characters, like the story. I quite enjoyed it, even though I’m more used to steamier reads--this one is just on the right side of sexy, and there’s nothing explicit, but you can feel the passion between Victoria and Dillon.

I fell in crush--is that a word?--with both characters. Victoria, because she’s a wonderful woman, full of love and strength, and you can’t help but identify with her. And Dillon because... he’s Dillon: nice, gentle, considerate, good in a kitchen, but also passionate and... let’s keep the secret, you’ll see for yourself when you read it. Let’s just say that he’s perfect.

It was just sad that the narrator wasn’t that good. She wasn’t bad either, and her male voices were cool, but the odd pause mid-sentence kind of threw me off. Still, she put emotions in her reading, so I kept listening anyway.

I rec this book if you want a sweet and funny romance.

Great Story & Narration🎧 Delightful & Heartfelt!

This is audiobook is an enjoyable delight and I loved everything about it, from Andrea Johnston’s wonderful writing style, to the story and characters she created to S.T. Edwards fabulous narration. This book captivated me from start to end. The story and the characters are realistic and easy to relate to. Victoria thought she was spending the rest of her life with her husband, Patrick, the love of her life. His death changed the path of her life, her friends and even her son are encouraging her to get back out in the world. It was her husbands wishes for her to live on. She has her fair share of dysfunctional dates before giving up on it the dating app. She decides to move in another direction, turn a hobby and her love for books into a business venture. She meets up with Dillon, the hunk of a man who runs the Irish Coffee shop. I really liked Dillon, he was great with Victoria and for her. The two clicked and decide to go on a non-date date. I loved how everything plays out between them, quickly becoming friends, she is a bit hesitant at first, afraid to go further but the chemistry between them is undeniable. I adored Victoria’s friend and sister, Charlotte and Anna. Also loved the heartfelt letters. There is never a dull moment in this book, there is drama, emotional and moving moments, funny ones and a great twist you do not see coming, all leading to a wonderful burn romance. Thank you Andrea Johnston for this beautiful story and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

S.T. Edwards is a terrific narrator and voice artist. She brings the characters to life giving each their own voice and personality. She does a great job portraying the characters and projecting their emotions into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen 🎧
