MISS SCARLET FOLLOW YOUR HEART!!! LOVED IT!!

Scarlet and Asher!! Will they, won't they....oh I was getting so frustrated with Scarlet...she is such a sweet girl on the inside..but so doubting of herself!! She is brave and wonderful heroine...I really hope we get another one...but I liked how this one ended too. I like that she and Padget formed a bond, creating a friendship bridge for them...and I love this group of characters together...they have formed a little family and its awesome!! GIVE US MORE KATE!! :)

Great Read

Liberation (Moonchild, #2) was a good read by Kate L. Mary. Scarlett survived the auction and near death experience at the hands of Asher's father. She's now more than ready to settle into life in Columbus. Scarlett is starting to feel that there is hope on the horizon for them. That is until one distress call threatens everything they have managed to build. It's been months since the night Paget left the warehouse, but when she calls the warehouse, they know something is wrong. The group heads to search for Paget, but it seems like she's no where in Columbus. As they search it seems like danger and death are seeming to follow them. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.

Entertaining, exciting series!

Narrator did a great job again! She was the narrator for the first book too, and gave just as good of a performance in this book as in the first. Great job with all the character’s voices, Quality performance and recording.

Another entertaining, fun adventure for Scarlett and her crew. It’s about 5 months after the events of the first book, this time Scarlett and Asher and the rest of the crew are out to find Paget; Asher’s ex-long term girlfriend. They received a distress call on the radio from her, but it wasn’t very clear, so they set out on the hunt for Paget. They meet lots of despicable people along the way, and danger is afoot. There’s more drama with a possible romance between Scarlett and Asher, but she still isn’t sure she’s who is right for Asher. Plus, you add in some new chick fawning all over Asher, and you have yourself an annoying, high school type romance going on. Not a fan of Asher’s flirty nature and that he doesn’t straight out say to other girls to back the heck up. Scarlett’s back and forth is annoying, but I’d be wary too; especially with Asher and Paget. Scarlett does make some stupid, rash decisions, but I was still getting mad that others blaming her for everything. Plus, she still insists on wearing short skirts all the time, but I still love that she sticks up for herself. I’m excited to see what the next book brings to the story!

Fantastic story and narration.

I had forgotten how much I love Asher and Scarlet! This new book takes us on a crazy ride and forces Scarlet to face Asher's ex. The dynamics in this book between the characters is fantastic and shows how Kate manages to build such realistic and relatable characters.

The narrator is great, I really enjoy the emotion that she infuses into the words and the action that she can depict from the intonations.

loved it

The story is brutal, to kill or be killed. Very well written and clearly author has put deep thought into the characters and the environment they live in.
This author keeps surprising me. I just love her books.
I hope you will enjoy it like I have.

Great Series

I was just looking through my "currently reading" books and realized this one shouldn't have been listed there. I'd listened to it almost two weeks ago. I remember typing up the review but obviously I never posted it, which is very strange of me to have done. Of course, I don't remember everything I had said in my previous review... :(

Let's see...

I know I loved this story; the series has been great so far! I'm a huge fan of Kate L. Mary also. The narrator had done a really good job and I'd definitely listen to her again. Aaaahhh... I know I wrote a fair amount last time but... can't... remember... I loved the male character (forgot his name) that Scarlet had flirted with in the bar, then later allowed him to go back to the hangar with her. When he was trying to protect her but got hurt was sweet. I was glad Scarlet and Asher progressed in their relationship. Who doesn't love a good love/hate relationship? This really annoys me that I can't remember. Either way, I'd definitely recommend this author, this series, and this narrator to others.

I received a free audiobook copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.

Excellent Book!

I love how Mary L. Kate writes. The vivid world she builds, the rich characters, the conflicts that draw you in, causing a biting concern. My love for the characters and concern for their safety grew in this book. This is the kind of Audiobook experience I crave.

I highly recommend that you start with book one in this series. You do not want to miss the entire experience of this entertaining series.

I fast-forwarded bits here and there as I'm not interested in the sexual angst between some of the characters.

Content: No strong language or sex scenes in this book.

Great follow up to Moonchild!!

I adored Moonchild and this second book is just as good!! The plot is strong, the characters are developed even further. It was just great and I love it just as much as I did Book 1.

Heidi Drennan continued with the same exceptional job as she did before in Moonchild. I live how she uses cadence to differentiate between some characters, as well as the tone.

Awesome job!!

Swashbuckling and Sisterhood!

I received this book via a promo code and this is my voluntary review.

After successfully rescuing her bestie Rory from the Flesh Market Auctions, Scarlett has been rechipped and is trying to settling into life as a pirate with Asher's crew. Normal is the watch word and she's tumbling around the friendzone with former child fight clubber Asher. Unfortunately, not everyone was enjoying their new family life, and Paget's attempt to get some distance over the love sick puppy eyes her ex is sharing with Scarlett, ends in a desperate call for help. Feeling responsible for the trouble Paget finds herself in, reality that the coal miner human traffickers and fighting pits could be
stalking closer than comfortable prompt our band of renegade buccaneers to answer the distress call.

This book is better paced than the first, and the writing fits better as the dynamic between the characters hits the grove I'm used to finding with Kate L Mary as the story expands to show us more of the post-tech&modern world (It's not exactly post-apocalypse because society is still very much there... just more Victorian poor houses and corruption)

Heidi Drennan does a fantastic job bringing Scarlett to life and I loved the way this story is slow burn and allows the reader to soften along with Scarlett to the goodness that is Asher.
