Publisher's summary

Imagine a spell that can age you a lifetime in heartbeats, turn loved ones into enemies, and set demons upon your soul...and imagine having to use it to save the kingdom.

Battle-tested Augum, Bridget, and Leera prepare for a final confrontation with the increasingly vicious Lord of the Legion. To face him, they must master a hopelessly complex spell they can only learn from their legendary mentor, Anna Atticus Stone.

But with a kingdom hurtling toward annihilation, Anna Stone’s health failing, and relationships crumbling under the stress, the trio face the most painful decisions of their lives. For the slim chance of victory, they’ll risk everything on a daring plan - one that, whether it triumphs or fails, will exact a terrible price.

Worth every penny.

I can't call this my favorite series ever but I did enjoy it very much. Worth every penny and more. I love books about magical artifacts and I love following smart characters learn and grow.

fantastic series

first off, narrated by the third best voice in the world behind only morgan freeman and sam elliot. the story is amazing. tying things together from 4 books prior is a talent. bravo!

Listened to all 5 Books Hoping for Improvement

There seemed to be potential as the first couple of books went by. The protagonists were honing their skills, the antagonist was getting more character development but everything fell flat in the 4th and 5th books.

The author couldn't seem to decide whether 3 fifteen year olds should make decisions of typical teens or that of young adults.

So many plot holes to include a spell so powerful that the singularly most powerful warlock on the planet should have used it instead of having 3 teens use the spell that's so complex there should have been almost guaranteed to fail.

This single spell had potentially life altering and ending side effects that were never discussed even when their mentor was was suffering them as she was training them to use the spell.

World and character building started off strong but never fully fleshed out any characters other than the 3 teens although there were significant appearances of several other characters that were never developed.

The narrator did fine and made the books more bearable than they could have been.

I do not recommend this series to anyone other than those that have spare credits and have nothing else to spend them on.

10/10 would highly recommend for a great read

This series has a great story to it. and to warmly go along with the great story is the great voice of stefan Rudnicki.
Those who love a good adventure and a sort of . . . Tranquility would love this book.

Great conclusion

This was a great conclusion to a series I really enjoyed. It comes with an epic and extremely frustrating battle which is what I always hope for and expect.

a reasonable conclusion

It was a struggle to finish this this series given the recycling of the primary book's villain plots and this slowness at which characters developed.

I don't care how compassionate a person may be, but after witnessing the trails the kind that occur in this book a character, or person, would eventually learn that there is a time when you must pull the trigger to save the many.

Although, perhaps the author is just setting the stage for additional sequels. either way, I don't think I'll be continuing this series... despite the narrator being really awesome, and about the only reason I was able to complete it.
