Publisher's Summary

This special audiobook edition of the Lectures on Faith from Zion's Camp Books has been prepared especially with you in mind. It is narrated as a book, rather than with chapter and verse numbers as in the print edition. This will give you the greatest enjoyment as you listen to the words of the prophets and learn about faith.

The Lectures on Faith were originally prepared as materials for the School of the Prophets in Kirtland, Ohio in 1834 and were included in the Doctrine and Covenants from 1835 to 1921.

Narration isn't bad at all!

I almost didn't buy this book because of the reviews about the narrator. Oh my goodness - have these people never attended a lecture?? This is not a professional narrator but it's certainly not terrible. The reader appears to be an older man and sounds a bit like a professor. While I wouldn't want to listen to a full size story by him this small 2 hour work is just fine! And the truth is there aren't any other audio versions available. So I've been able to work out in the yard AND listen to a profoundly deep book. I'm a happy camper.

Worst Audible Performance So Far

This performance is so awful it makes it unlistenable. It is extremely difficult to understand and hear the reader. I consider this purchase a big waste of money as now I need to go read the actual book since I couldn't stand listening to it. Such a disappointment.

Most Memorable

So much precious principles to commit to memory. Will there be sufficient remaining telestial time?

Great Content

I love these lectures and I appreciate Adam for his labor and best effort in reading. I would love to hear a baritone or bass reader version too. I listen to these lectures over and over. Thanks again.

Mind Boggling

The really good and instructional information is after the long boring birth years of people.

Production quality is awful!

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Adam Tervort?

The narrator has an awful voice. It sounds like he is going to break down and cry.

Any additional comments?

Wow! The production quality is really bad. At one point he makes this "arrrgggh" noise and the repeats the previous sentence. It just sounds like an amateur decided to record this.

Human Narrator or AI?!!!

This is a very powerful and important work by one of the greatest men in the history; a man who, I believe, knew more about the Plan of Salvation and the Heavens than any other man to ever walk this Earth, excepting only Jesus Christ Himself. I strongly encourage the reading of this book. It deserves 5*s.
That being said, the narrator is so monotone that he sounds like a low grade computer voice. It is the worst narration I have heard from any other reader since becoming a member of Audible & whoever cast this reader should be fired. I don't expect Will Wheaton or Tim Curry to narrate every book, but this reader's monotone and amateurish narration offends my ears. It is for this reason that I give it 4* (the book deserves 10* and the reader deserves -3*). I am grading not only the book but the narration as well, in other words the Audible version of this book. I will avoid all audio books with this reader.
Read the book! Avoid the audio version with this reader! Unless you have insomnia and want a sleep aid.

Dry reader – powerful writing!

Yes, the reader is a bit dry. But, the text is not an easy read. :-) It takes focused listening, but what a POWERFUL text!

Great book! Dry narration.

I really loved the content of this book but I found the narrator hard to listen to.
