Don’t waste another day of your life!

A beautifully written book that intermingles the wisdom of Roosevelt with present day life. Shaun cleverly invites the reader into Roosevelt's life and purpose. She pulls out very practical believes that we should adapt in our own lives today. She reminds us that life has the potential to be amazing! This book is refreshing and wonderfully laid out. It held my attention and even had me taking notes throughout.

Roosevelt gave all to everything he did. When he failed, he had given 100%. When he succeeded it was at 100%. He encourages us to take the risk and own the outcome. He lived his words. He knew that our minds are where our confidence battle is either won or lost. We are reminded that we give power to what we allow in our lives.

He found his North Star at a very young age. It was what steered him and kept him marching forward. He shows us to be brave and steadfast in the direction we should go, to never waver or give up. It is never too late to find Your North Star. Set it as your guiding force to lead and direct all you do.

Shaun keeps you engaged by telling little stories about Roosevelt then showing how it connects to our everyday life. She writes very down to earth and has adapted an understandable and achievable way to look at life. I have only recently met Shaun but I feel like I've known her for years after reading this book! She has a wonderful carefree vibe about her because she lives what she believes. She is living proof that the principles she writes about are attainable. She carries herself in such a way that has you wanting to know what her secret is!

We are reminded to embrace life and live it to the fullest. Engage in every moment, from the mundane to the crazy. What a glorious adventure we have been given! Go for it and do not settle for anything less. Be your biggest cheerleader! Embrace, enjoy and soak up every moment!

More People Should Aspire To Be Like Teddy!

What a great listen! Teddy Roosevelt was more nuanced and admirable than I ever really realized (in my defense I was largely unfamiliar with all but the most renowned events of his life) and while I'm sure there are more complete, linear accounts of his life (ie. straight biographies,) that's not exactly the point of this book. This is more of a self-help book in a biographical wrapper- although "self-help" may not be the best classification, either. I suppose, it is, more accurately, a "self-analysis" study that draws inspiration from many of Teddy Roosevelt's admirable qualities and the character building events in his life.

I have to admit that I'm not especially into most self-help type books because they often feel too preachy or patronizing BUT this one avoids those pitfalls by recounting events from Teddy Roosevelt's personal history and the traits that make him a great role model. We are presented with a proven roadmap of his accomplishments and obstacles that he overcame suggesting techniques that we can employee for our own accomplishments and overcome obstacles in our own lives.

I also loved the wide gamut of the quotes and snippets of relevant anecdotes from other celebrities and professional personalities that Stockton chose to help further illustrate the significance of each chapter. Which reminds me - the non-linear approach to Teddy Roosevelt's life in this book make it perfect to listen to (or read- I plan to also purchase a physical copy of this book) the chapters in any order that you wish or as they seem most relevant to whatever problem you encounter in your own life. Both of these factors make this book easy and enjoyable to experience.

Vincent Caruso gives a terrific performance but especially when reading Teddy Roosevelt's quotes! While listening to this book, it occurred to me that when I picture Teddy Roosevelt, I can't help but imagine Robin Williams (thanks to the Night At The Museum movies) and now when I imagine Teddy Roosevelt speaking, I can't help but hear Vincent Caruso.

I can't wait to read/listen to whatever Shaun Stockton has in store for us next!
