Learning nouns in German seems almost pointless without the accompanying genders. It is a must!

No Artikel given for nouns

My biggest problem with learning German vocabulary is knowing what the gender is. There are no articles given with any of the nouns in this lesson.

The native speaker sounded like she's been hit with moose tranquilizer. It doesn't need to be dialed up to "radio announcer", but higher than "coroner doing an inquest" is a bare minimum.

What was most disappointing about Innovative Language Learning’s story?

There really was not a story involved so this does not seem to apply here. Not applicable.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of uncredited?

Anyone with a pulse of greater than fifty beats per minute would fill this role well enough.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The price was right.

The Narrator's voice is absolutely awful

Dreary, almost whining. Sounds muffled at times. Just couldn't take even 20 minutes of it..

The German girl sounded so sad! I could not listen without getting depressed. I don’t need Super-peppy or musically smug; but hey, she makes you not want to visit Germany!

Great for getting used to hearing the language

Great for getting used to hearing the language. If you are already familiar with some very basic (ages 0-4) vocabulary it is more helpful.

Basic German

A great course for false beginners of German. The good thing is that you can listen as often as you like repeat and learn sentences, bot just vocabulary. I'll be listening a few more times.

I have been learning German for a month and half now. this is great to listen to AFTER you learn a few phrases to help with listening to what has been studied.

Very good accent good vocabulary base put in context i loved it.I recommend this esp is free as addon to a german learner

The contributors sound depressed to the point of suicide throughout making it difficult to listen to.

I found this pretty useful. I am sure that "acht" means 8 not 6 though?!

Great but not for absolute beginners

I think overall I've found this a useful revision tool for the actual lessons I've had in an actual real life. It's not for 'absolute' beginners and definitely covers quite a bit of the ground across the beginners level (tenses / sentence structure / gender etc). Some familiarity is required for maximum usefulness. The audiobook clearly gives you key words which you can repeat. Great. But some example sentences can be quite difficult to understand. I can't see how you could just like that by osmosis internalise full sentences and ultimately a whole language. I don't think as a 'system' it would work on its own. But hey, what do I know. I'm just a linguist learning another Fremdsprache. I'll say this is used best as a revision tool.

Perfectly reliable good start to German

This is a very good basis for learning German vocabulary. Good selection of words and phrases.

waste of time

it's just an advertisement. worst part is that I cannot find a way to return it and now I am reminded of that pitifull purchase everytime I scroll through my library

I did find it very helpful.

certainly helpful for someone who likes to practice the understanding of general basics of the language...I did find it at times not having the right pace for my personal need.
again in general I would reccomend it to anyone seeking a quick way of learning basics in a quick way.

Worth it for free

Pretty useful to cement a few words if you are already learning. Probably not hugely helpful if you are a complete beginner. As a free book it was worth listening to and I will listen to it again to better embed the vocab in my memory.

Fast paced learning

I enjoyed it and feel like I learnt a lot in a short time frame. It's certainly the fastest paced language audio book I've come across so far.

Good for first-time exposure to German

Useful basic vocabulary, although at times the German narrator spoke comparatively fast for beginners. Otherwise quite helpful!
