Publisher's Summary

When a mail-order bride meets disaster!

All Jesse Jennings ever wanted to do was marry his fiancée, Pauline, and be a rancher, but when Pauline is killed by a band of robbers, Jesse dons a deputy sheriff’s badge, swearing he will obtain justice for her wrongful death.

After Kate Whidby’s parents pass away, she is forced to live with her brother and his new wife, but living with a woman who not only doesn’t like her but resents her presence proves too difficult, propelling Kate to accept a mail-order bride offer. But when she arrives in Texas, not all is as it appears. Kate’s betrothed has a dark past, and when the truth comes to light, she is sent fleeing into Deputy Sheriff Jesse Jennings’ arms.

Will Jesse find Pauline’s killer? Will Kate find safety and protection? And will he be able to let go of his past to build a new future with Kate?

Love it!

I received this ARC copy of this audiobook from the author, and this is my honest, voluntary review.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I loved that, even if I was able to guess at which characters would be a part of the HEA, I wasn't able to quickly guess how the story would get there. I look forward to reading other books from this series! I expect all off you too enjoy it as much as I did. I LOVE a well-written CLEAN romance!!

Great Christian Story

I was so excited to hear this book on audio. I had read it but Daniel James Lewis that read it brought the characters to life and I was able to see them in my mind as I lay back and listened. It is a great Christian book that I would let my 15 year old read without having to worry about what she is reading or to listen too. Kudos to Lorana Hoops and to Daniel James Lewis that read it out loud for us all to enjoy.

Unexpected love found

This story was engaging from the beginning to the end. I enjoyed learning about the backgrounds of both Jesse and Katie. They both come from a place of hurt, yet together they are able to persevere. The narrator did a great job of bringing the story to life. Overall, this was a sweet clean romance that I would recommend to anyone that loves that genre and enjoys historical romance.

God really did have a hand in her future

Kate came west as a mail order bride. Just hours before reaching her destination their stage coach was robbed. As an eyewitness she was able to identify one of the robbers by a scar on his hand. When she is standing in the church for her wedding she realized that her groom was that robber. Her escape and ability to identify the robber by name and the location of his home make her a very valuable witness. But surely Godvworks in mysterious ways. I enjoyed this book when I read it some time ago. and it was fun to listen to it again. The narration was good however since this was Kate's story I think a female narrator might have been a better choice. But it was still good and enjoyable.

A sweet mail order bride Western romance

Lawfully Matched is a sweet mail order bride Western romance with a heartbroken sherif, a villainous bandit, and a lovely lady. The story is a Christian romance, and while not excessive, I found the talk of religion in the story to be a little distracting to the story. Otherwise it is a pleasant story to listen to (or read).

The narrator does a good job bringing the story to life.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Great Historical Western Fiction

This is the second book of this author that I have been fortunate enough to read and listen to. Very sweet romance. The characters were well matched and made a good fit even though they had no idea! The narrator was Daniel James Lewis. He had a little bit of a southern accent to his voice which added to the Texas feel of the book. It was fun to listen to and his expressions and "voices" were well portrayed.

Enjoyed how the steadily paced book progressed and there was suspence and romance to keep things interesting.

The book was of a novella length and I was able to finish listening to it in one sitting. I enjoyed it very much.

I received an Audible copy from the author. All thoughts are my own.
